No, I wish we'd have lost. I wish the score had been 8-0 to the Mancs and Rooney had got six, with Owen bagging a brace. What do you want me to say? If I say that will it make you happy? I thought I was a "in the closet" Chelsea fan anyway? Surely I'd be happy then if we won because the mancs would have gone above them?

Because I think the team is good enough to challenge, I'm negative. Because I think the manager should be expected to win trophies from time to time, I hate him with a passion. Because I'm not happy when we lose four matches on the bounce, I'm not a real fan. Despite the fact that I've supported Liverpool since I was a little kid, for not far off forty years, I'm gutted when we beat Man Utd?

Absolutely incredible it really is. What a completely moronic argument  :no .

us beating a big team like MAN U was always a givin, its what Rafa is best at, its when we play the lower teams he has the problems.

to sort this out he need to let Sammy have more input on how we play the smaller clubs.

The same sammy lee who couldnt beat an egg when manager of Bolton - tell me once again why Rafa should let sammy have more input when it comes to playing the smaller clubs ?! Sammy is great at motivation and applying Rafas idea not tactics .

I think Rafa has a problem getting the team ready and up for the smaller games, I understand him putting so much time into looking at the big games but the team sort of pick themselves up for them ones, it when they have to go and play games with the likes of Sunderland for of our team feel we will win easy as its only sunderland.

Sammy did not do well at Bolton but that was not his fault and i think we all know that, the club was a right mess at that time, most of the players were not even turning up for traning as they did not know when it was going to be as they were not told, 5 time Sammy was left on his own at the traing ground and twice it was shut when he got there.

I am not saying Sammy is the be all to end all but he has his place at the club and should be used better, yes we know he is not getting on with Rafa all the time but i am sure that could be sorted.

Do we know that Sammy is not getting on with Rafa ?!? Im sorry i must of missed where Sammy has stated as such and i prefer to listen to what he actually said two weeks ago on LFCTV when he said he is loving working with Rafa . Your inside source telling you porkies again ?!

Also smaller teams ? Do you mean like Burnley ?Hull ?Stoke ? Bolton ? West Ham ?

I must admit Lakes I've been watching how Rafa and Sammy interact, little tell tale signs of body language and all that stuff since you started mentioning it. Either they are very good at disguising it, or I think you're wrong mate. They seem to me as though they are enjoying working together.

it all strarted with Rafa talking about his contract to the press, sammy was very unhappy with this, when we had a bad run last year Sammy sort of got his own back by letting it slip to the press that a top player was fit even when Rafa said he was not, that was on SSN, BBC,ITN.
after a game we draw last year Sammy walked off and out of the ground without talking to Rafa, this was seen by fans near them and was reported a lot on RAWK.

Some ex players still close to the club have also come out and said that sammy should be left to do his thing, this was said by IAN RUSH on sky news at the start of this bad run.

Sammy is the team hugger and he finds working with Rafas man management style hard and from time to time lets things get to him, Sammy Lee is old school, he would love to re-build the bootroom if he could, but once lost its lost.

there have been many reports about sammy and Rafa not getting on but i think some seem to not read them...........or they dont read the full reports when they are printed in the pappers.

Or maybe they realise the press are a bunch of sh.it stirring w.ankers whose main aim is to create headlines and to stir up a bit of trouble . They talk out of their f.cuking ars.es .

Go watch Sammy's interview on LFCTV - that is the man himself talking - not some bunch of chinese bu.llshi.t rumours going round the press and around forums .

Media = Bo.llocks

Do you believe everything you read in the press ?

FWIW...........

Seeing ESPN football focus with john dykes now. Phil Thompson and Steve Mcmahon are on now.

1)Phil Thompson says he still supports Benitez.
2)He also talks about benitez not spending any $$$ this season (Alonso's transfer took care of the Aquaman's and Johnson's signings).
3)Finally, he blamed the owners for making benitez's job harder.

1)Steve Mcmahon on the other hand was flaming benitez for spending 20 million on a injured player like aquaman.
2)He mentioned the benitez could have done better with the money.
3)Also...he said liverpools 1st team is good but other than that...the rest of the squad is sub-standard.
4)He then said...Benitez is using the fans anger against the owners to strengthen his position in the club....

So we also have Pro and Anti peeps in football focus....  :wwww

No mine was a QUESTION not an ARGUMENT. His response, full of sarcasm, was the argument. I must say you of all people should know about moronic arguments as you seem to corner the market in them.

When Heindall sticks up for you..... well that just speaks for itself.  :nod

You're officially dumber than I thought possible.

1. If he wasn't injured. Wouldn't he be out of our league? And what would his potential price be? You don't think this could be another masterpiece-signing like Mascherano?

2. Could have done better with what money? With the Aquilani money. Ok. how much better then? Pure speculation. Let's wait and see. If Aquilani will play 300 games for Liverpool over the next 6-7 year. And play well. Isn't it worth waiting for 2 months for his legs to cure?

3. And why is that? Have you tried to evaluate this at all?

4. In no way is that true. The owners have managed to do that on their own. Strenghten his position? Talking about :censored:. Loosing games because of a thin depleted squad due to lack of funds has strenghtened his position? FFS there are plenty of stupids out there like yourselves trying to give him the sack. Despite the fact that he has overperformed on the pitch considering the economic strenght of the club and the squad he inherited.

Guys like you are a treath to the well being of this club. I waited 20 years for this success to come along and I am to old to wait another 20 years because some morons like yourself will damage the club. Liverpool has in no way the ability to dominate the modern game like we did 30 years ago. Things have changed dramatically. With the bosman ruling and free flow of labour and capital. You will no longer see clubs like Millwall, Norwich, Nottingham Forest put up title challenges like they did only 20-30 years ago. Liverpool is haunted by its richer rivals. The best we can hope for is nicking a trophy here and there. We will never return to the glory days of the 70s and 80s.

Some people will not accept this.

Great result against the mancs and a vital victory to relieve the pressure on Rafa, at least for now.

Let's not get carried away with one good result though, it's going to take more than that to keep the wolves from door.

Hopefully we can kick on from here and get a run of wins on the board.  I honestly feel we have more chance of doing so now with Aquilani returning to full fitness.

Creativity from the midfield is something we have sorely lacked this season, Lucas has clearly shown he can't offer much in that department.

mcmahon has always slagged rafa off. never given him any credit whatsoever. thompson should be used to it though. he has to sit there and defend our corner every weekend when plebs such as merson and nicholas are slagging rafa off constantly.

nobody is as negative as ronnie whelan though as i'm sure our irish friends areawll aware. for an ex-liverpool player, the venom he displays towards rafa on a regular basis is nothing short of a disgrace imo.
