Xabi Alonso

0 goals/shots
74 passes (92% accuracy)
3 assist attempts
5 balls won

Compare that to Lucas/Gerrard, no shots is not entirely unexpected and not much of a problem within a side like Real Madrid, but as many assist attempts as Lucas and Gerrard combined and higher accuracy of passing while only one pass less than Lucas - although it seems he was loathe to pass to a well-known diving colleague! (5/74)

why you bringing up alonsos stats for real madrid?

Why do you spend all your time on here nit picking and generally posting rubbish ?

It actually is interesting to see how Alonso's stats compare to our current midfielders especially as Lucas is going to be compared to Xabi by everyone all season.

Its not interesting its a pointless stat i woulda bet billion pounds that alonso' passing accuracy woulda come out better then anyone at our club for someone to need that stat to be sure about it then they mustnt have been watching the xabi i have for the past 5 years

The only people comparing Lucas to alonso this season are idiots

To be fair it was more the fact he lost his footing after sprinting back to win the ball after gerrard lost it & did nothing to get it back

wasnt so much a tackle

I think the fact that Gerrard had dropped back deeper in the middle had helped taking pressure off from Lucas. Hope he keeps this up and we keep on winning. Really want Lucas to prove me wrong. See how he does when we play a tougher opponent. I think Lucas played ok for the last couple of games but not anything spectacular. Will wait and see how the Aqua man will play before any judgement.

Had Lucas put in the performance that Spearing did for long spells last night (especially in the first half) he'd have been getting absolute pelters.

I found it interesting, seems a few other people did as well, what's your problem?

He would and rightly so. It's one thing for a kid to come in and make only his third or fourth appearance and have a poor game, but it's quite another for a fella who we paid 8 million quid for and has been in the first team squad for three seasons to do the same. Lucas would have got slaughtered if he'd played like that, and no wonder.

Leaving that aside because I'm not really sure what the original point was, I don't think Spearing will ever be good enough for Liverpool on a permanent basis. Funnily enough I think the same about Lucas as well, perhaps that's where the comparison comes in.

I could answer that but I guess it is against forum rules to be honest

The passing is something we miss, the standard of pointless agressive posting from members like Nando is something the forum wouldn't miss.
