Once they wear the Red shirt of Liverpool, they are no longer individual players but rather a part of the team you support ( ??? ) . If you support Liverpool, you cannot single out players you do not like and say I support the team except them (it makes no sense)

Where did i "dismiss any positives?!" iv repeatedly pointed them out, fact that you cant read or choose not to is no problem of mine.. And please, dont put words in mouth that i havent said.. make your own points by all means but dont make up points and relate them to me just to try and refute them... Next you'll be telling us we'd be a sht side if Lucas wasnt in the team.. Head out of ur a$s buddy, last season they guy was booed at home, thats how sht he was... this season he had a half decent game against stoke and a sht outing against Tottenham... he hasnt proved jack sht as far as im concerned...

How about you start arguing footie instead of having goes at posters and opinions... then again maybe thats just asking too much ...

Totally agree....as i have already stated Lucas is a liability to us....he cant be depended upon......Rafa surely must see (as most LFC do) that he has to get rid of him....and quick! Lucas is an average player...with average ability....and he will never be any different I wish people on here would open their eyes and admit that he aint good enough for our club. :no

Plain and simple.........Lucas is !...why all of a sudden are these people with short memories trying to "play up (useless) Lucas"?.......just because he had a half decent game...against a less than half decent side (stoke) all of a sudden he has become "St Lucas" :bowdown ....well he dont cut the mustard with me....or with many other LFC fans either...lets see St Lucas play as well in the forthcoming games against better opposition ie...villa, chelsea...or will he be overun again and disapear up his own Ars@hole...just like he did at Totenham. :nod

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you moron number 3

No one is talking him up after 1 game, yet you shallow tw*ts still judge him on giving away a penalty against Wigan and getting sent off against Everton. People that don't suffer from learning disabilities can see that he puts in a good shift every game and contributes CONSISTENTLY to the side, in both attack and defence yet idiots, and I don't use that term lightly come on here and blame him for the Spurs debacle when he was clearly one of the better Liverpool players AND handcuffed to Mascherano who had a total shocker but nope, your feeble little minds has to have a scapegoat and you could never hold players like Carragher and to Torres to task because they're AWESOME IN FOTBALL MANAGER.

It would be easy to simply just label you retarded and go on with the day but since you are all little trolls and every 3rd post belongs to one of you and your constant anti-Liverpool drivel it starts to grind the gears, and I'm sure others feel the same way having to CONSTANTLY defend our own.

Our players get more stick on here than on a Manc forum, there has got to be something wrong with that.

you're a pompus, arrogant self-opinionated little tw*t and perhaps I should have said totally ignore the positives to suit your own mistifying agenda. Arguing football with you has proved impossible as you consistently spurt opinions you have formed in your own mind that have no foundation in reality, for example claiming the guy has no attributes at all is insulting to anyone with even a hint of knowledge about football in general, let alone Liverpool

And FWIW he was booed by a small section of the crowd and that act was again disapproved of by most Liverpool fans and finally give me an example where I have put words in your mouth and not simply echoed sentiments you have put across here over the last 3 months? You are a wind up merchant of the highest order and I can see no earthly reason why people like you and Heidmall come on here other than to wind up the vast majority of posters

A few years back, Tim Vickery (South American football corespondent) spoke glowingly of Lucas as a throwback to the traditional Brazillian, playmaking, central midfielder in the mould of Cerezo, Falcao and going further back Clodoaldo.  He made the point that since winning the World Cup in '94 Brazil have, mainly, operated with two sitting central midfielders in front of the back four and asked the full backs to bomb forward and provide creativity.  He hoped the emergence of Lucas and Arsenal's Denilson and a couple of others would herald a return to the free flowing Brazil teams of pre '94 with creative midfielders able to create and score themselves rather than cover for fullbacks.

Point is, Lucas didn't win player of the year in Brazil by making 5 yard sideways passes.  He was creative and scored goals, albeit in a league where he had more time and space to work in.  There is talent inside him, hopefully as he gains in confidence he'll be able to show it.

That said, can't get too excited about his International callup.  From what I saw in the Confederations Cup Felipe Melo and Gilberto Silva were underwhelming, Ramirez was w@nk.  Elano looked as good as anyone in their midfield and he was never consistently good enough for City, was he?

Agree with the earlier point about Lucas improving since his haircut.  Perhaps if we could hold him down and shave the rest off, the league would be won by xmas.

Perhaps the free flowing role he was previously used to and the kind of game he revelled in has been suppressed by Rafa. Wouldn't be the first time our illustrious leader has performed such wonders....

Yeah it looks like an experimental line up. I think I read the article on BBC and Vickery referred to him as I think a second position midfielder, somone who links the defending and the attacking and the middle, He writes some good blogs Vickery and its interesting to see the perspective of the other side of the Atlantic in regards to some of the imports that arrive in Europe and don't quite make it or don't settle, the likes of Veron, Adriano etc

Maybe Rafa is a fan of the post '94 Brazil style.  They may not be as good to watch as they were but they've regularly brought back trophies since then.  I thought Glen Johnson did a passable impersonation of Cafu the other night.

I do like Vickery, sounds a nice chap, but I'd like him a lot more if his initial impressions of Lucas become noticeably more evident in a Liverpool shirt.  Here's hoping.

Well we know he likes the 2 midfielders in there to be more pragmatic than cavalier, but he does like one to offer some threat, with Alonso you had someone who could join up the defence to attack with one clinical pass, whereas with Lucas I believe he trys to get more physically involved creating extra numbers forward as he doesnt have Xabi's passing range (who does?)
