A rumour from my local paper (the Hull Daily Mail) is that Liverpool have offered approximately £6 million for Michael Turner.

I honestly don't know whether there is any truth in this but I guess this forum is for rumours!

Anyway, I personally think he is a very good player, but do we need to spend that much on a 4th choice CB?

With Carragher, Agger and Skrtel plus 1 or 2 other squad CBs already there, I think this money could be spent better.

Worry not, I can't see them paying the required money and Rafa and Purslow have shown that are not softies in the art of negotiation.

That Sabre is the most accurate comment of teh moment - dont bother trying to buy Liverpool players unless you´re willing to pay way over the odds.

And thank god for that too.

The Xabi transfer did if nothing else, lay down the law.

**********Crackpot theory********************

if they want Mascherano next summer, ok.  But after he captains the world cup runners up, the price is going to be very, very high. and then with that cash, we go over to our new favorite midfield store, AS Roma, and say heyyy pizano, why-a doncha sell us-a De ROssi? He already has a good mate over here, his best mate Totti is running low on gas, his favorite player is Gerrard, he could bring a ton of cash to his club that needs money in a bad way, he would have a chance at actually winning something . . .

even so, it still doesn't add up. He probably will never leave, and certianly wouldn't want to leave the club in a position where they could be without a star Roman once Totti retires.

but my goodness we would have a dynamic midfield:

                        De Rossi
                                            Aquilani
           Gerrard
Kuyt                                                     Babel/Riera
                             Torres

I don't think he'd be 4th choice for long mate, he's a cracking player and would be a far more natural partner for Carra than either of Agger or Skrtel.

You could well be right. I think he is a cracking player but initially, would have to earn the right to move up the pecking order.
