Bound to be, the press know Rafa still has some cash to spend so they will speculate until he spends it.

We just spend 17mil on Aquilani. I doubt we will get anyone else, maybe Distin for a few mil.

Turner is a good option, young and reliable last season he played every game for hull, same goes for distin aswel! Anyhow 12 mill is a bit too much... I'd rather got for distin cheaper option also could be used as a back up because when we have carragh, agger and skrtl back distin will always be behind them. Someone like turner would want more apps and hence would feck off in a few years.

Am I alone in thinking we are still a striker light ?  I don't like our plan B options if we have to do without Torres. Not sure we need another defender quite as much.

We have needed a striker ever since Keane left .. I think it was one of the main reasons we didn't win the league last year. We have 3 very good center backs and some good young prospects that can cover if ever there needed through injury.. I think we just need to invest all the money we have in a forward it just makes the most sence.

Agent of Mathieu Valbuena claims Liverpool interest

The agent of Marseille attacking midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has claimed Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in his services.

Christophe Hutteau said: "Mathieu would very much be interested in playing in England as the Premier League is the best in Europe. Liverpool are interested in Mathieu, but so are teams in Spain, Germany, Italy and Russia. I think Mathieu will leave Marseille and I think it is very possible he could play in England this season."

New Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has already told Valbuena that he does not fit in his plans and the 24-year-old has also been linked with Wigan, Aston Villa, Everton and West Ham this summer.

Valbuena scored three goals and provided three assists in 41 games in Ligue 1 and in Europe last season. He is contracted to Marseille until the end of the 2012/2013 season and is worth around 7 million euros.

Scouts in France describe Valbuena as "talented, explosive, versatile and very self-confident. Valbuena is quick, technical and speedy on the ground."

A move for Turner makes sense, he is English and especially in the long term a possible Carra replacement.

Hull are going to want as much as they can get for him though, Brown will know we have a couple of injuries also.

Assuming as the season progresses he is 4th choice, is he going to want to come here, he could have hopes of sneaking into the world cup squad.

Rafa may rate him high enough to give him more games.

Whilst the likes of Distin are cheaper, if there is a chance of getting a good english player shouldn't we take it? and will we still be looking at another attacker?

Keane or no Keane we still lacked the goals in those games where we dropped 14 points at home.
