I still have not seen anything impressive with Eggnog and I thought he was the only disappointment in Singapore, apart from him the team looked really together which is amazing if you consider the number of subs, I know the oppo was sh1t but all the same it was a fine display.

My man of the match, 2nd half was either Nemeth or Diggler.

Do you call running 30 yards at pace with the ball then slotting it past the keeper a tap in ?

They are both young , both inexperienced and both got a lot to prove - both look like they have some decent talents but time will tell with both of them how well they develop .

Going by your logic Milan Legend Pippo inzaghi has to be rendered useless or [email]cr@p...[/email] Ngog plays for France U-19 regularly.. he is young and scope for improvement is huge... especially when he is playing alongside world class players

Pippo who?? I've heard of Inzaghi but who is Pippo?? and what has he got to do with Eggnog???

anyway I don't argue that Eggnog has room for improvement but that's like saying I have room for improvement in trying to win the tour the france. Getting into the France under 19's does not impress me when you look at the state of their senior team, isn't Lucas captain of the Brazil youth team, enough said really.

Eggnog will never improve enough, he doesn't have a footballing brain capable of the prem, yes he scored a few goals last season but he was given plenty of chances too as well, yet none of the goals made me think, wow we have a gem here in the same way as Nemeth with his positioning, touch and vision does.

Mark my words Eggnog will never amount to anything in football.

"Pippo" is the nickname for Fillippo Inazhi mate

..Well i mentioned him because you were complaining about tap ins..tap ins are also important just like the 30 yarder screamer or a dribble past 4 defenders from the half way line.. Ngog is just around 20 mate.. he would definitely improve.. Lets see if he can become a better than average player atleast

OK OK but ffs you cannot compare Inzaghi to Eggnog. I totally agree that players can improve but by their 20's they need to be showing some promise and Eggnog just doesn't. He is the same as Lucas in that they don't make me sit up and think wow this lad has got something. Players like Pachecho, Spearing, Insua and Nemeth have that spark as did Fowler, Owen, Stevie and to a lesser extent Carra. With those players you just knew that they'd make it big from their first kick.

Well i think Eggnogg will offer our squad something . Honeslty i think the lad can and will improve . Like i said earlier he's not going to be aworld beater but he can do a job for us . Sort of a Peter Crouch job . 3rd Or 4th choice striker is ok with me . Nemeth though is going to be great i reckon , if rafa gives him a good go this pre-season we'll see more of this lad in the coming campaign.

I agree on Ngog... he showed a great deal of potential in terms of confidence on the ball.. dont agree that he has good finishing or good pace... to me his finishing leaves alot to be admired and he lacks a bit when it comes to pace too... he does however have a decent touch on the ball and seems to have confidence in whatever ability he has... given time and experience i think he'll become a much better player and a useful asset to our side.. atm though, i dont think he's good enough to be backup to Torres, neither is Nemeth to be honest.. Would be like Chelsea having that Di Santo (Anelka) kid as backup to Drogba or ManUtd having Macheda (Owen) as backup to Rooney...

To be honest the one kid that has impressed the most besides Insua has been Pacheco... the guy has more skills than Ngog and Nemeth and seems to have alot of natural talent and flair.. could offer something we lack in the games against teams that park the bus... Im not saying hes ready to be backup to Gerrard or one of the wingers, but he can certainly provide something different coming off the bench if we're desperate..

for now, i think we desperately need a backup for Torres...

From the 1st time I saw Ngog until now nothing has changed in my opinion about him.

He is nowhere near top 4 quaility. I rate Voronin and Nameth higher even if they also are a drop a bit to steep after Torres.

Well, even if I agree we need a backup to Torres I can not see one coming. Why?

1) Money seem a bit tight at the moment.
2) A backup good enough and better then what we have would cost 10-15 million.
3) Who wants to come here that is pretty good and knows he will sit on the bench?

I just hope Nemeth and Voronin will be the beckup and not Ngog. Only time he ever scores seem to be from the goalline.
Haven't once seen him do a defender and shoot it past the keeper 15+ yards out.
