"Gerard Houllier wouldn't have spent £5 million on me if he didn't feel I had good qualities as a midfielder and with an extended run in the Premiership this season, I'm confident people will at last see the real Salif Diao," said the Senagal international.

oh dear :(

tell you what Diao....prove a point by mutally agreeing the termination of your contract.

well i imgaine he'll have about as much impact as he did at Birmingham....i think pompy will get relegated this season...which will mean Daio will come back (again) because they won't be able to afford him in the chumpionship!  oh well....at least we arn't paying his wages this season, money saved!

I think Diao gets alot of unfair stick. When Gerrard and Alonso were both out injured, he playe dan important role for us, on which wasn't faultless, but nonetheless, it was better than everyone expected. Its a shame that he didn't get an opportunity to cement his place in the side as i honestly do think there was more to come from him.

BUT... If he doesn't do it for Pompey, then I'll hold my hands up...
