Xabi Alonso: I Am Happy At Liverpool, But Who Knows What Will Happen
The midfielder has refused to commit to his future again...

Spain midfielder Xabi Alonso answers questions from the press ahead of the

Xabi Alonso has admitted that he is happy at Liverpool, but added that no-one knows what could happen in the future.

The Spanish star has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Real Madrid believed to be chasing his signature.

However, in an interview with El Pais, Alonso explained that with Sami Hyypia already gone, he is one of the senior players at Liverpool.

"I am happy at Liverpool but in football you cannot close the doors on anything because you don't know what will happen. I do not plan to go. With Hyypia already gone, I am one of the senior players alongside [Jamie] Carragher and [Steven] Gerrard," he mused.

"[Four or five years ago] There was strong interest in me from Madrid, but Liverpool came and that is where I went. It was not a wrong decision, not for me anyway. I have played at Liverpool, a special club, grown as a player and won titles."

With regards to his relationship with manager Rafael Benitez, Alonso denied claims that he has a problem with the Liverpool boss.

"Each one has his own point of view. He is the manager and I try to do the best with what he tells me. We have a good professional relationship. We speak normally, saying what he wants from me and what I can give. He makes the decisions and we try to execute them," he mused.

Despite his remarks about his Liverpool future, however, Alonso did acknowledge that, at times, he has questioned his path.

"Last summer there was certain indecision and I did not know what was going to happen. I finished up playing well, though. I have had two quite complete seasons," he concluded.

Ah i dunno, how these boys get paid for writing such shite is beyond me.

Let's just have a look at the thought process of tabloids.

1. Gillett has sold the Canadians for $550m.

2. We have bid £17m for a right back.

3. Torres said just yesterday he was more than happy at Liverpool and money doesn't make a difference.

Tabloid conclusion = we have to sell Torres to Chelsea for £60m an Xabi could be on his way to.

They should be all sacked, everyone of them

Glen Johnson has signed for Liverpool.  Portsmouth have made it official.  Chelsea couldn't hijack the deal.

Great signing, good going forward and he's got the pace to get back to cover in defence.  It's about time Liverpool had a genuine threat on done the right, as Kuyt often comes infield rather than whipping crosses in.

There's some top footage of Glen on that site too.  Definately better than than Finnan, though he was great for the club.

Liverpool winger Leto set for Greek move
23.06.09 | Ian Ferris
Difficulty in obtaining a work permit means Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto will almost certainly move to Panathinaikos in the near future.

The 22-year-old Argentine only joined the club in the summer of 2007 and spent the entire of last season on loan at Greek side Olympiakos.

"I am very close to Panathinaikos," he said. "There are negotiations between Panathinaikos and Liverpool and as far as I know the two sides are very close to a deal.

"I think that the possibilities to play at Panathinaikos next season right now are more than 90 per cent.

"I have been waiting for something from Olympiakos all these weeks but they didn't make a move to buy me so far.

"It's not a matter of money. I wanted to stay at Olympiakos but since they don't want to sign me I have to think about my future."
