sturridge is (well, could be as its just a rumour at the mo) - the one that got away imo.

Not the finished product by any means, but he's 19, prem experienced, english, can score goals, and FREE.

Not bad for a back up. (for my money, definately better than N'Gog who's a year older)

Yeah shame that. Plus I doubt he will get many chances at Chelsea. Yet another talanted young player signing himself into obsceurity for a few years.

Some papers saying Yossi is wanted by a number of clubs in England and Spain. Among them Villareal and A.Madrid. If the latter is true I would maybe try and do a swap deal with someone there. Maybe Maxi or someone.

Its going to be a very dissappointing summer. Realistically all we can do is sit back let City, Manu, Real, Barca and Chelsea make there signing and then take the pick of whatever is left.

The only good thing is Real are unlikely to pursue there 25m Euro purchase of David Silva.

Wouldn't be so sure of that yet mate. They want rid of Sjneider and Robben so they could well get him.

Robben would be an outstanding signing, provided he could stay fit for more than five minutes.

Yeah second that.

Anyway some Silva rumors...

Benitez hopes Voronin is Valencia's Silva lining

Liverpool have reportedly offered Andriy Voronin plus £15 million to Valencia for their star winger David Silva.

According to reports in the Daily Mirror, Rafa Benitez has acted early in their pursuit for the Spanish international, which would also explain their absence in the Gareth Barry deal, so beat off the expected competition for the player. In addition to Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all monitoring the situation.

Valencia will have to sell a number of their best players this summer, with David Villa and David Silva topping the list in order to balance their precarious finanicla situation.

Benitez is keen to close the gap on Manchester United in their race for next season’s Premier League, and David Silva is his number one target.

Should the Spanish club not want to take Voronin with the deal, Liverpool may offer Dutchman Ryan Babel as a makeweight.

wouldn't mind robben come this way, we would just have to keep him and pepe apart :D

it would be the biggest coop ever if we got both silva and villa with both the porn star and babal going the other way i think it would take at least 30 mil on top of those 2 to get them though

come on rafa pull it out the bag son

Liverpool To Offer Andriy Voronin Plus Cash For David Silva - Report

Valencia's summer of trying to hang on to their best players, or at least sell the for as much as possible, has begun...

Liverpool have moved to beat Real Madrid to the signing of Valencia's David Silva with an offer of cash plus Andrei Voronin as manager Rafael Benitez begins his summer rebuilding plans.

The Reds are believed to have lodged a bid of €17.5 million (£15m) early in the window as they recognise that they could face stiff competition if they wait, according to The Daily Mirror.

Valencia know that they will have to sell certain players this year in order to help ease their financial plight and Liverpool have long been linked with Silva.

Both the 23-year-old forward and his team-mate, David Villa, have committed themselves to los Che, however, both have admitted that they could leave if the club make it clear they have to depart for financial reasons.

"Silva is high on Rafa's wish list and Valencia may have to sell as soon as possible because of their financial situation," a source close to Liverpool told Goal.com.

"Liverpool are said to have made an offer of £15 million along with striker [Andriy] Voronin.

"However, Real Madrid could also be looking at the midfielder.

"Silva has often expressed a preference to remain in Spain, but Liverpool scout Eduardo Marcia, who discovered Silva as a youth, could play an influential part in negotiations."

Benitez is overhauling his squad after missing out on the title by just two points to Manchester United and he sees Silva as the answer to his problems on the left.

Ryan Babel has flopped at Anfield and the club will use the cash from the Dutchman's sale to fund the move for Silva, although more may be required if Valencia do not want Voronin.

The Ukrainian forward joined Liverpool in 2007 but was unable to earn a regular place in the side and moved to Hertha Berlin on loan last term.

Id offer Babel and voronin, voronin cost nothing so we're not losing anything and Babel hasn't had much of an impact so I don't expect £10m from his sale
