Spoke to David, Adam’s Dad but the only thing he said was that Adam had gone to Portugal for the under 21 games. He knows that quite a few teams are interested. It will depend on Gareth Southgate.

Hertha Berlin already signed Hoffenheim defender Christoph Janker for next season on a free transfer. However, strike duo Marko Pantelic and Andriy Voronin are set to leave the club.

Martinez flattered by Liverpool reports
442 Staff - Today, 18:08

Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez says it would be difficult to turn down a move to Liverpool, should Rafael Benitez's side come calling this summer.

The highly-rated 20-year-old has made more than 90 league appearances for the Basque outfit since arriving from Osasuna in 2006, earning international honours with Spain at U19 and U21 level.

And the youngster's performances have led to speculation that former Valencia boss Benitez is weighing up a summer bid for the starlet as a potential replacement for fellow countryman Xabi Alonso, who is reportedly attracting interest from Real Madrid and Arsenal.

However, Martinez insists he is taking no notice of rumours linking him with a move away, but conceded a transfer to Anfield would be an attractive proposition.

"I am absolutely calm, the rumours do not disturb me," he said.

"Liverpool are a great team with a great history and any player would like to go there.

"If I receive an offer, I will deal with it with the club."

Eurosport:   We are hearing supersonic cyberwaves that would suggest Paolo De Ceglie could be on his way to Liverpool! He's a left-back at Juventus, but you already knew that.

From bbc sport rumours page...

2248 BST: Brazilian forward Kleber claims Liverpool are attempting to sign him from Cruzeiro for around £6m.

The player, however, would like to stay in his homeland: "Cruzeiro have been made an offer but I've always said I wanted to play in Brazil and make history here because I know it is possible." (SporTV)

Never seen this lad play to be honest.

What is it with these players who feel the need to announce it to the world when they are approached by big clubs. I suspect half the time its BS and they are just using it to leverage themselves into a big move.

He is probably thinking more about the world cup. Im guessing at City he would be a starter no probs where as that wouldn't be the case here. Anyway :censored: him he's nothing special anyway.

Liverpool trail in race for Manchester Uniteds Carlos Tevez as they fail to meet fee
02 Jun 2009 - 10:10:55

Tevez's representatives will meet United chief executive David Gill tomorrow to discuss the forward's future, though privately Tevez holds out little hope of United coming to an agreement that would see him remain at Old Trafford beyond the end of the month, according to a report in the Independent newspaper.

United, who have already paid around £10 million in fees during the player's two year loan at the club, have been trying to negotiate a reduced fee for the player, but with City more than willing to pay the asking price, that appears unlikely to bear fruit.

United hope to take 'last chance' to sign Tevez'Ronaldo the new Beckham'City would also be able to offer Tevez vastly inflated wages and the Argentine's sense of frustration with United, with whose fans he enjoys an excellent relationship, may make the controversial move across the city more feasible.

Real and Chelsea remain in contention but the London club's pursuit of other high profile attacking options, such as AC Milan playmaker Kaka, means Tevez's chances of being a regular starter at Stamford Bridge, a key consideration after being relegated to the Old Trafford bench for much of the season, appear limited. Kia Joorabchian, who leads a consortium that holds Tevez's economic rights, is confident both clubs would match the figure demanded and therefore is in a strong bargaining position with both Liverpool and United.
United, though reluctant to let Tevez go, especially to one of their Premier League rivals, appear to have reasoned the money saved would be better spent strengthening a midfield that was so comprehensively outclassed by Barcelona in the Champions League final.

The dominance of Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez may in part be explained by the news that United midfielder Michael Carrick was playing with a broken toe. It remains unclear whether the injury predated the final or was picked up during the match in Rome but may go some way to explain a poor showing by the former West Ham midfielder, who would have been in a considerable amount of pain.

We dont want anyone at Liverpool who is only motivated by money. Forget Tevez and Barry if it comes to that.

Heard that we've been linked with some Napoli striker, Lavezzi of someone, any substance to this one?
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road
