Just back from Star Trek and it was fantastic. I have followed Trek all my life and I thought they did an amazing job of staying true to the characters without turning it into a caricature. Zachary Quinto as Spock is especially good and even Simon Pegg as Scottie--a casting decision I was very skeptical about--worked well. Good story, too, and amazing effects. A perfect way to spend a Saturday...watch the lads stomp on West Ham and then off to the cinema to watch a glorious franchise reinvigorated with a new conceptualization.

Not really a sci-fi fan apart from the original star wars (from when i was a kid) but the missus really loves all stuff like this so will probably go to watch the new Star Trek film.
