Fowler, Carragher and Kuyt. If I had to choose one it would be Kuyt. Not one player that has worked so hard for the team has gotten so much critique from fans as he has and he still keeps on going.

they give their views. if they think the manager is bad or the team is playing poorly, they say so.

they both wish the club was as good as it was when they played.

that is because they love the club.

But he couldn't half tw@t the ball. Scored a great goal in the 1977 FA Cup Final.

Jimmy is well and truly settled on the couth coast these days. He does the Saints local radio commentary with the passion and gusto you get from Johny Aldridge on Radio City.

During the 80's it was Kenny for me.

During the 90's Patrick Berger, I thought he was very underrated.

00's Gerrard.

He was a nice lad an all Eff made me laugh though i was talking to him one night in the chippy in Netherley not long after Hansen arrived. He was moaning saying there were to many jocks (his words) they were taking over.  But he paid for me chips so i let him off

I remember Nanny, as a kid we used to play footy by some garages.
"Casey" was spray painted on one, apparently it was him who did it - I just thought it was sound that someone
one day writing his name in spray paint could be playing all over Europe with the Reds the next.

His brother lives by me, he's a builder. On his van he has "brother of legend Jimmy Case" which is a bit embarrassing.

Exactly. Do we criticise the performances, tactics, players and manager because we're just bitters have resentful digs at our superior neighbours? No. We want the team to play better, we want to see good tactics, good players playing well and the manager getting it right.

Problem is everything isn't right, we ALL wish the club was as good as it was back then. Some prefer to bury their heads in the sand, continue to have "faith" or to "believe", but the only way to solve a problem is to address and analyse. If we just said "we're crap" then that wouldn't be constructive, the debates on here are analysing the problems and the weak links - maybe over-eagerly at times and rather hyper-critical/scathing on some players, but what do people expect?

I tried to come up with a favourite XI (in my time), but even if I could pick out the goalie, defence and midfield, there's no way I can narrow down the strikers to just two. I mean just picking two from Fowler, Owen, Torres and Aldridge would be hard enough, not including other candidates. Maybe it would just be easier to pick the side from a season like 1987/88 or something.

Just because some continue to have faith and belief in things doesnt mean they are burying their hand in the sand, i conetinue to belief and have faith but my head isnt buried anywhere just like others who do the same - we all know there is negatives around the club and team but we dot cntiue to go on about them and are more focused on the positives and building up on that - lets not pigeon hole people just cause they have belief and say there head is buried in the sand etc etc

I say heads buried in the sand, because they continue to tell other people how they should support the club, get behind the manager etc and ignore the problems, don't want to talk about them and even don't like other people talking about them. You could say they want everyone to be positive, but England "draw positives" out of defeats in cricket and that don't get them very far. To improve you need to improve on the weak things, not focus on the things that are ok/can't be improved. And how is not accepting our title challenge is effectively over anything but burying your head in the sand? I could argue the finer points of exactly what I said, but I think it's better not to drag another thread into another argument about viewpoints.

My favourite pool player is Steve Davis

Then your just insulting people that are trying to look for the positive mate - just because they do doesnt mean there head is buried anywhere . If someone still believes we have a chance to win the title (when we still mathmatically can ) then thats being positive and showing belief and should be given credit for that as opposed to be accused of burying his head in the sand .

I disagree entirely with your interpretation of everything I've said and the whole situation, but I think this is a thread that doesn't need another ding dong. Even when I say that you continue, do you not know when to give it a rest? (probably the sand getting in through your ears!)
