Bad news for us that City are involved....makes the price silly.

I would love us to sign this guy.  Him and Torres up front would be formidable.

City can't sign him unless Villa agrees to the deal, correct? I would think if we can even sniff the City offer, Villa could handicap Valencia by saying that he would only sign for Liverpool.  ALthough we probably wont be able to match Barca or Real's offers either.

Hopefully our spanish lads can convince him to come here that would bring down the price , if he wants to come to liverpool

anyone think we could pull off trying to bring in either Rosicky or Joe Cole? I guess they are both a bit of a risk both coming off injuries, but they would be used to playing in England at big clubs and would see more time of the pitch here than if they stayed.

Rosicky is a good player but he can't stay fit , would be just another kewell . Joe cole , always wanted him and the chavs might sell with them being interested in zhirkov now

Villa may as well stay where he is rather than join City. Mid table teams the pair of them. Only thing we have in our favour is European pedigree, title hopes, R.Benitez and F.Torres.

come on Villa, join the rafa revolution. :D

Is Rosicky really that injury prone?  I know he's been out a long while with one very bad injury, but apart from that I wasn't aware he was bad for injuries.  Not sure what his injury was but if it was knee ligaments or something I wouldn't sign him without seeing him play first, might not be the same player after that.

Joe Cole I would have here no problem.  It was Scolari that had the problem with him though was it not?  Hiddink might take to him.

Rosicky has always had a problem with injuries - spent a lot of time out when at Dortmund , which is a shame as he has always been a cracking little player . J Cole would be a great addition but can never see Chelsea letting him go to a rival .

I've heard that Benitez wanted to bring in Gareth Barry, Wayne Bridge, Emile Heskey and Keane in the summer and was willing to let Alonso go in order to help finance those deals. Parry refused to sanction them and that's the straw that broke the camel's back.

He also went in for Heskey in January and had an approach for Micah Richards rebuffed by City.
