1) Hull City have completed the signing of Manchester United striker Manucho on loan until the end of the season.
Hull have not yet secured a work permit for the 25-year-old but hope they will be able to achieve that before Saturday's match against Arsenal, while the club are also expected to complete the signing of former Liverpool defender Steve Finnan in the coming week.
Brown said the club were still hoping to do a deal with Finnan, but insisted the club would have to be completely satisfied about the full-back's fitness.
"It is a long way from being complete," said Brown. "He has been injured and I think he has only played four games for Espanyol, which is a concern of ours, hence the reason he has undergone a medical to the extent he has.
"We are pulling out all the stops. We are making sure we are doing this one properly."
One deal already completed is that for winger Kevin Kilbane, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract on Thursday.
2) Wigan manager Steve Bruce has confirmed a deal to sell midfielder Wilson Palacios to Tottenham has been "virtually agreed".
The deal is believed to be worth around £14million for a player Wigan bought 14 times less, and Bruce said: "The two clubs have virtually agreed a fee. It is how that fee should be paid.
3) Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho has claimed he would like Jermaine Jenas at the San Siro.
Sky Sports News report that the Inter boss has made his intentions clear, while the Palacios deal has cast doubt on the future of the Spurs midfielder, who has been out of favour under Harry Redknapp.
4) Real Madrid are believed to be ready to let Argentina international striker Javier Saviola leave the Bernabeu in the January transfer window.
Forgotten man Javier Saviola celebrates scoring a rare goal.
Saviola has struggled to make an impact with Real following his arrival from bitter rivals Barcelona in the summer of 2007, however Premier League trio Everton, Portsmouth and Newcastle United are all reported to have made tentative enquiries over securing his services.
5) Liverpool could try to strike a permanent deal with Toulouse for left back Herita Ilunga, who has impressed on his loan spell at West Ham.
6) Manchester City are known to be busy trying to secure a deal for Brazilian International Kaka from AC Milan, but they are reportedly also planning to bring Italian International Marco Materazzi back to the Premier League from Inter Milan.
35-year-old Materazzi, who has played for Everton in the 1998/1999 Premiership season is said to have received a big offer from City to make the switch from the San Siro to the Eastlands Stadium.
Materazzi is said to be keen on returning back to the Premier League after losing his place in the Inter first XI to Walter Samuel and Ivan Ramiro Cordoba, with Inter understood to have no objections to Materazzi leaving the Serie A side for the Blues.
7) Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly tracking Inter Milan’s Hernan Crespo, after failing to entice his team mate Adriano to the Premier League club.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp flew to see Inter’s Coppa Italia win over Genoa earlier in the week, giving rise to reports that the club were preparing a bid for Adriano.
However, with Inter reluctant to let go of the Brazilian international, Redknapp is now understood to have turned his attention to former Chelsea striker Crespo.
Argentine International Crespo's contract at the San Siro runs out in the summer, with Nerazzurri coach Jose Mourinho not favouring the striker and could decide to cash in on Crespo rather than let him leave the Italians for nothing in the summer, when the forward would be a free agent.
8) Portuguese International Veloso has been at the centre of intense media speculation linking him with a move away from Sporting Lisbon to a host of Premiership clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and big spenders Manchester City.
European and Premiership champions Manchester United had been strongly linked with 22-year-old Veloso throughout the course of last season and have already signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani from the Portuguese club in recent years.
Veloso had been expected to move away from the José Alvalade stadium after EURO 2008, with AC Milan and Fiorentina along with the interest from the Premier League, linked to the midfielder.
