we could probably get him on loan or free....worth a 6 month punt.

He was only joking mate that was a wind up. 6 mil isnt a punt. We dont have that sort of money to throw away especially on a sick note. MO would be a punt as it would be 2mil at the most.

We were in a bad way when Rafa got here, and then Owen left and we got £8m odd for the European player of the year, he didn't give the manager or the club a chance, he could have given us another season and then left if he wanted, still at his peak and getting the Club the £20million we should have got. Thats why so many are against him coming back.

For footballing reasons I'd have him back, he will score, and the injury issue would not be such a problem as Rafa would rotate him anyway! We need him, we are so close to getting number 19, and his goals could be the difference, so far this season I've seen far too many chances missed, which I know he would have put away.

The problem is Rafa is not interested, he would not fit into the way we play (like it or not). He'll probably end up at Chelsea.

Have we not got any money to spend in January??
And you know this how?

We supposedly had no money in the summer but still managed to splash out 20 million on Keane not to mention the rest.

Well Im glad we have someone on the forum who is more knowledgeable then the English manager. He seems to think that Defoe is better then Owen. The future looks bleak for the English national team

Yeah I can see him going to Chelsea. Utd have too many strikers but even Arsenal could get him with Walcott out and Van Persie due an injury soon.

are you fckin serious mate ?!

he's been brilliant for newcastle so far this season... hes banging them in for fun... 8 in 14 is it ?! come on dont just argue for the sake of it... when hes fit the guy is absolute quaity and theres no disputing his finishing...

As for Defoe.... he'd cost too much which automatically rules him out and i think a fit Owen is better suited to this club playing at this level than defoe ever will be...

you wanna go in a different direction i reckon the likes of Adriano(Inter), Gudjohnsen(Barcelona) and maybe even Mido would have been better shouts...

I like mido he is a good shout how much tho 6-8 mil ?

I feel with good players round him mido could be a little gem and is prove to be bale to cope with prem.  :)

I don't think we can risk any one over sea's in jan it to risky as we only have one shot at this remember.

Rafa please no free transfers unless its owen of course .  :D

i meant 6 month contract....West Ham have no money and Ashton is on big bucks. I reacon we could get him either on a 6 month loan or on a free....offer him a 6 month contract and see what happens.

either way, bar the wages, he'd be free.

Owen when fit is at same level as.

Torres , Anelka , Drogba , Rooney , Teves.

Defo is more level of crouch , aston , berba , keane. imo.

And i am not saying owen is as good as torres he isn't as complete BUT.

If i say you got torres that is 190/200 I say owen is a 185/200 player and defo is around 165/200. ok understand my scaling ?

Owen when fit and...27 maybe!

Owen would be good as a stop gap, but would that be what he'd want?
