Class is nothing to consistency and any player can have a class day but its hard to be class all the time even for the greats.

Few players have managed it in the prem due to the tempo we play at.

Its easy to look at these so called class players over seas and say he be great but many come and fail under the pace we play football over here.

Now consistency is hard for a young player to master its some thing that takes time to learn and experence often plays the biggest role in being consistent so how can someone expect a 21 year old to be consistent ?

Even ronaldo isn't class every game alot of time he is agv at best and just looks a fool.

To Sum up I would prefer A player to play 100% of his games at 8/10 then a player to be like a 10/10 every 10 games and 6/10 the rest of them.

Lucus is young to expect him to perform week in week out is outrageous and something to common in todays game.

Ronaldo looks like a fool? Listen lad, I don't believe he's as good as made out, but he is a world class player and would walk into most sides.

But for you to sit there and say that, then defend Lucas is beyond belief. You don't have a clue about football what so ever mate. Give it a rest now and go and take up and watch another sport.

When he is diving all over the place looking for free kicks I say he looks like a fool.  :rasp

He's a much better player when he's given the ball further up the park rather than when he's asked to play a deeper more holding role, then all you get off him is six yard sideways passes.
Stepping in when SG is having a rest is probably the best use of him right now though and it lets him play his natural game.

Yeh its hard for lucus when he is seen as the next one in line to replace SG and alonso must be hard to live up to that this is why he needs even more suport from our fans.  :)

Don't agree at all mate, I thought Lucas had a good game.

Expected the worst when I saw the team sheet with him in it, but he didn't let us down today.  Didn't do anything special but was quite good at breaking up play and he passed it well.  Will never be a top player imo, but does not deserve to be slated after today's game.

In fact including the PSV game and today that's two good performances in the last two games I've seen him play.  Many (me included) don't think he's up to it, but I do think he's showing some improvement.

I still disagree mate.

I thought he had a poor game to be honest with you, commited too many fouls, I counted 2 times he lost the ball in the middle which ended up Arsenal creating two chances for themselves. He couldn't control a basic pass which let him down. He had one good pass and a good chance and thats about it. I don't think he was the worst player on the pitch, I thought Kuyt had a poor game as well.

Sorry Metalhead, I agree with John and Leon, I thought he put himself about, put his foot in and was tidy (if a bit unadventurous) with his passing. Had a good effort well saved as well. He did look knackered quite early in the second half though.

Same here, he played well today. Very tidy performance from the Brazilian.

lucas had a good game? maybe for his standard..
to be fair 1st half he was still ok, doing the basic stuff as defensive midfielder. As the game went on, he got worse. Could it be due to fitness i dont know. But his passing is either to the side or backward. Hardly looked around before he received the ball and his first touch often let him down.
Once Adebayor was sent off, Rafa should have replaced Lucas with Babel and pulled Gerrard back in the middle.

Nah, I thought he was decent. I wouldn't have played him myself, but I can't understand how anyone can say he was rubbish, he wasn't.

Rubbish is not the right word. Decent seems about right Bigmick.
What was wrong with Masch? Would take him over Lucas any day
