if he's a traitor, he would have sat back till the end of his contract and would get a lot more money. why must he play for LFC all his life? come back to reality some of u!! he's been a great servant of LFC but now its a turning point for his carrer...support the lad, appreciate what he did and respect his decision!!!!!

Traitor or not. I actually think we can improve as a team without Owen. Owen was one dimensional, and he has not performed well since 2001. Him leaving could be a blessing in disguise.  :D

Gerrard didn't sign a new contract when he turned down Chelsea........ :Oo:

When footballers talk nowadays, in stead of talking about the following match, they often simply talk about contracts.  How can a contract be so complicated that it takes nearly two years to consider ?  Does it have to be translated into every language in the world and analysed letter by letter.  Whats the deal ?

I don't understand why you called him a traitor, but why?

That is not Liverpool fans to do call him, no way. He want to leave and he want a better challenge and been at Anfield for long time since he was 11. There is nothing we could do about it. I am happy that we got £8 millions because I rather have that than free. We have learn our lesson from McMananman's bosman deal to Real Madrid and we don't want that mistake again.

If I see Michael Owen play for Real Madrid in Champion's League at Anfield, there is no way that I boo him, that's not real supporter to do that.
You all should thank him for what he done everything for us, have you thought about 2 famous goals in last 5 minutes in FA Cup Final against Arsenal in Cardiff, because he want to win for us.

So, I wish him all the best for future, if it's doesn't work out at Bernabeu, I would be happy to welcome him back to Anfield.

I'm not happy with Owen, but I don't put all the balme on him.

As with many players now it is the Agents who are pushing forand demanding more for their cleints.
Don't forget that the more they get for the players the more they get themselves.

I feel that Agents have a lot to answer for not only in the Owen scenario but in numerous transactions in recent years.

Agents have no loyality to any club they are only out to get what they can for themselves.

I cant believe some of your posts!

He's not traitor cause he's been here since the age of 11?

Whats the hells that got to do with it?
LFC gave him a chance, and he left when they still needed him most, in the re-building phase. the midget.

He knew all along he wasn't gonna stay last year, and not so much as a press conference to say why he was off!

Hes not that impressive anyway in my book. hes gonna be on the bench for Real!

You're an idiot, Real wouldn't buy a player that would sit on the bench 24/7. Your football IQ is quite funny.
