If Spain win, then Torres has GOT to bring the trophy to Anfield for the first game of the new season.

Well in Spain!  Bossed the majority of the game without difficulty, scored some cracking goals, created plenty of chances and completely shut Arshavin down.  Brilliant performance and hopefully one that will be repeated against Der Deutschlanders on Sunday!

Agreed...his best game by far of the tournament so far.  That goes for Iniesta as well. :nod

Russia were outplayed tonight, Arshavin didn't see the ball to do anything anyways, and when he did he was well defended by the outstanding Sergio Ramos!

Fabregas, Iniesta and Ramos had great games tonight. Torres was always a threat, but unlucky not to score.

Deserved win for Spain.

What a crappy day.  Russia completely turned off in the second half and it was like the first game all over again.  I cannot believe how invisible Arshavin and Pavluchenko were, I guess all the media attention put too much pressure on their shoulders.  I'm just glad that Torres did not score today, because that would have been heartbreaking for me.  In the end Spain really deserved to go through after that second half performance, they were unbelievable.  Good luck against the Germans.

Manhattan is never wrong. Manhattan was playing mind games.

I'm chuffed. That was the best game of Spain in my life, and did it in a semifinal.

Our back four + Senna played as if it was not a national squad but a top team of La Liga. We did know that Arshavin must not be allowed to receive and turn (other teams allowed him to) but I didn't expect the zonal marking we did on them would be that effective.

I'm bloody happy because we won with our very own style of football. Fabregas was very important. Villa's injury is a set back, but Spain will recover their most natural system, the 451 is more natural for our style than playing two strikers, but Villa's and Torre's form have forced us to play both of them. We won't see Guiza unless we're losing against Alemania.

Now I feel it's Torres' time, I feel he'll make a great final. He deserved the goal yesterday, was a bit unlucky.

Bloody happy for Aragones aswell, he's heard all kind of stíck from Senile to clueless, yet, the old stubborn man didn't lose the composture and was as calm as when we win a friendly.

Bring me the germans!!!!!

Great performance from Spain it really was a joy to watch them last night, the way they move the ball and keep posession constantly probing is amazing.
They marshalled Arshavin superbly and made sure he never influenced the game at all.
Every time they went forward in the second half they looked like scoring.
Fabregas's ball for Guiza's goal was sublime as was the lads finish to be fair, loved the third goal as well, simple passing but the weight of pass from Fabregas was spot on and it was also with his left foot, Silva's first touch was perfect and atidy finish, lovely goal and a fitting way to finish of the Russians who quite simply were played off the park.

Dont write off the germans they have a knack of getting results no matter what, but i think any neutral will agree that the spanish deserve to win this tournament without doubt.

Hope Torres can get one in the final, he looks sharp and was very unlucky yesterday. Am actually happy that Aragones keeps bringing him off, least he shouldnt be f'cked after the tournament is over.

In a funny way if the excellent Villa is injured for Sunday it may benefit Nando and Spain overall! In my opinion if this is the case,he should play Torres upfront and Fabregas in behind him in a 5 man Midfield...or maybe they can borrow our 4-2-3-1 formation!

Spain owned that game last night because they have a great Midfield and Russia were outplayed there!
The German midfield is excellent also and packed with big physical players.I think if Spain tried to match them man to man in this area the Germans may just out muscle the skillful Spaniards!
Its fair to say also that Nando is at his best up front alone with a creative player behind him.Theres few around as creative as Fabregas and he has proved throughout the tournament that he makes an instant impact against any team and makes things happen.
Of course Aragones may just throw on Guiza and stick with a 4-4-2.I just feel that unless there is an early goal it will be a cagey affair and Spain could really do with a spare man in the middle.
Fabregas deserves to start anyway he has been excellent every time he came on!

Iniesta, Xavi, Silva and Fabregas in one midfield yesterday, can't get more creative than that really!
