Not a type of striker we are looking for, same class as voronin.

Crikey, mate! :D  I'll admit I don't have much of an opportunity to watch the Bundesliga and am just going on recent international tournaments, but you've been raving about Luca Toni and are now putting Podolski in the same bracket as Voronin, which strikes me as...shall we say...strange. ???

My mate he is a Bayern Fan, so I watch Bayern games with him, and lukas podolski is decent and not a striker we are looking for and certainly not an improvment from voronin :D

Luca Toni is so much better, yes he may have had a scoreless tournament, but he offers alot to the Italian team and the idiot Donadoni didn't play his strengths, instead he relied on negative defencive tactics that didn't suite Toni. Watch him in Bayern Munich, his link up with Ribery is very very good. :nod

I thought we put in a 20m bid for Silva, why is Valencia telling Arsenal to lay off of Villa and Silva?

:D Okay, mate, I'll take your word for it that Toni isn't anywhere near as bad as he looked this tournament.  I might even be convinced that Podolski runs a bit hot and cold.  But as bad as Voronin?  I'm not having that! :D

I have watched Luca Toni with a mixture of interest, exasperation and latterly anger during Euro 2008. I have come to the conclusion that putting it politely, he is utter garbage. Less polite people may describe him as being sh!t.

I confess to talking through my pocket to an extent as Italy were my main wager after they'd got beat 3-0 by the Dutch (12/1 on betfair, good price and all that) but even so. Fortunately, such was the obvious ineptitude of their lone striker that long before they got put out on penalties by Spain I had already decamped a bit of cash onto alternative options.

I re-iterate though and conclude with a Sabre style quote. If Luca Toni ever plays football in the English Premiership he will be a total flop as he is useless.

Arsenal are now meant to be in for Crouch and if you believe what you read in the papers (why would ya) Spurs are willing to offer 15 million for Crouch and Benny

Totally agree with you mick, i said it in the euros thread, he looked like a big yard dog.
No pace, no composure.
If he got 30 odd in the bundesliga last season it mustnt be that great a league.
Put Crouch in that Bayern team instead of toni, he would be player of the season.

I don't think Crouch fits into Arsenal's philosophy of football somehow. :D

On Benayoun, there are supposed to be a few clubs interested including Portsmouth, Everton and Man City but he's already come out and said he wasnts to stay.

I don't mean to pull a "Welsh Wizzard" but heard from an old friend who "works at Anfield" today.... :D
The b@stard hasn't called in feckin' years and he calls up all excited saying he was gonna burst if he didn't tell someone... Donno how reliable his info is so don't string me up if he's wrong!

1. The 2 Spanish Davids are on the way to LFC for 36 million quid.
2. Alonso deal is done.
3. German Euro 2008 player on his way.

Pure tosh if you ask me... but sets the heart racing just a little doesn't it?

ince is new to the big time but i do think he has seen pennant paly and would be a bit wary of signing him
