He's a young lad but plays with a lot of confidence and, as you say, he gets into some outstanding positions with his off the ball runs. He strikes me as a lad that will miss as many as he puts away but that's what you get with strikers. He'd certainly be an improvement on Voronin and Kuyt up top, IMO, and would probably not cost the moon. He may well be worth a punt.

If someone gets this lad for 10 million quid this summer it'll be the crime of the century. Every minute he plays for Russia this Euro his value ratchets up. He's top drawer and anyone that didn't recognize that before the competition started will know it now. There will be a bidding war for this fella and, sadly, I can't see us being involved in it.

Selling them is the best thing that could happen to them, and I hope he stays. 120 mil added to Manchesters summer bank account could make things bad fast.
I know this is nothing to do with our rumour mill so please dont hunt me down and destroy me Debo...i mean misty![]()
But why is mu losing there star player a bad thing![]()
No matter how much money they get, they have to replace him with someone with similar ability and who could make the team be able to play in the same defensive counter attacking way.
Name me that player...no matter how much money ?
a good amount of their team is getting older and they could shore it all up sharpish with a whole new generation with the ronaldo money
Eh ?
They dont have an old team at all mate, there are a couple of players like Scholes and Giggs getting on, possibly Van der Sar, but the rest of the team are not old at all.
Also Ferguson hasnt exactly been hampered in the transfer market as it is, after winning the league 2 seasons ago, he went out and spent 17 million apiece on Nani and Anderson a similar amount on Hargreaves and brought in Tevez who will be on really high wages.
Getting shedloads of money for Ronaldo is neither here nor there, replacing there star player. The player who allows the team to play the way they do is another.
I cant see any player that they could sign that could replace him.
They would have to change the way the play imo if they lose him.
It could only be a good thing for us and any other rival team if he goes to Madrid.

He was worth that before the russia and holland game but after that game , i think his value has gone up to 12 to 15 million , cracking player gave the dutch defense a torrid time and beat his man on every occasion but unproven in a top team and not he biggest is he . The whole russia team were superb yesterday , totally outclassed the dutch

Arshavin on his wayDuncan Castles The Observer, Sunday June 22, 2008 Article historyRussia's Andrei Arshavin, a target for clubs in England, Spain, France, Germany and Italy, will leave Zenit St Petersburg this summer, according to club coach Dick Advocaat.
Arshavin, who helped Zenit win the league title and Uefa Cup last season, impressed during Russia's final group game against Sweden, scoring in the 2-0 win. Newcastle, Manchester City, Everton and Arsenal are among the clubs reported to be interested in the 27-year-old, who would cost £10m - the fixed price in his contract should he move.
'Andrei has told us that he wishes to change clubs,' Advocaat said. 'Although, at present, in terms of offers received, it is quiet. The situation may well change, though, in the coming days.'
Any deal involving Arsenal may depend on the possible sale of Emmanuel Adebayor, with reports claiming Barcelona have offered £22.5m for the striker, who has also been linked to AC Milan
