Brilliant result, didn't catch the game - will see later. Here's hoping we can continue to phase Insua into the first team, and hopefully one or two others.

Well done Joe Terp too, it's great to see someone take such a keen interest in the youth system (especially an American  :D). Keep up the good work.

If you knew American Sports culture, you would probably expect it.  Especially with the ability to watch the ressies online as well as 15 minute youth clips each week. in some parts of the country U18 high school american football is the pinnacle There is an obsession in this country with recruiting from high school to college, college sports, the draft, and a constant who is going to be the next whoever mentality. The University of Kentucky just offered a basketball scholarship to an 8th grader for its 2011/2012 season because they didn't want to get beat by other schools to his signature, and it is newsworthy over here. Lebron James was nicknames "King James" and signed a $100M shoe deal before he had played a minute of professional basketball

Well, my perceptions have been challenged, which is always nice. I've perceived Americans to be quite insular, unconcerned by the finer detail of what occurs outside of their sphere of interests, so I'm really quite surprised that you take this level of interest in the inner-workings and developments of our youth system. It's great to see.

I'm not all that keen on the notion of signing up increasingly younger players, in any sport, for ridiculous sums of money.

I think the shoe deal example borders on the ridiculous, in fact, it is ridiculous.

It happens here mind, just not on the same scale as in the U.S.

I do admire a high level of competitiveness and drive to be the 'next best thing' at youth level in football, but just feel that the massive financial incentives on offer threaten to corrupt the spirit of the game. It's pretty much already done that to quite a large extent in my view, but that's another debate in itself which touches upon political outlooks.

it's good to see at least one yank is taking interest in the club.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Caught the game on LFC TV last night and a couple of the lads did really well....Flynn, Darby, Plessis, Nemeth, El Zhar to name but a few....Great to see them play in Anfield as well. That must surely give the lads a taster of what it's like to play on the hallowed turf when it *really* matters...
Villa - aside from that ogre Harewood - really didn't offer all that much.
Didn't see Gareth Barry in the stand.....hmmmm

Jordy Brouwer is hilarious

Jordy, What was it like to score in front of the Kop?

It was the best moment of my life. To score in any game is amazing but to score in front of the Kop is something else.

It was a great performance tonight against an experienced Villa side wasn't it?

Yes, they had four or five first-team playersand we only had Lucas, so we really turned it on and to win 3-0 is a great achievement.

I used to have satellite till the point I couldn't handle the connection. Would go out for half an hour if it started to drizzle. Can you get somewhat the same experience with Liverpool's E-season ticket on the official website?

To celebrate three years since the miracle of Istanbul, we're giving you the chance to relive some special memories in the company of three lifelong Liverpool fans on LFC TV on Sunday night.
Daily Mirror columnist Brian Reade, The Times football editor Tony Evans and Boss Magazine writer John Maguire join Matt Critchley in our studios to discuss 'Istanbul: The Fans' Story' as we reflect on the greatest game ever played.

Our three guests look back on the road to Istanbul as the Reds knocked out some of Europe's finest teams to book their place alongside AC Milan at the Ataturk Stadium.

If you travelled to the final yourself then the memories will come flooding back as they reflect on their journey to Turkey, the atmosphere in Taksim Square on the day and the scenes en route to the stadium before the big kick-off.

How were they feeling during the match? What was the mood like at half time and how much did the fans lift the players with the most stirring rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' that's ever been heard? What about the nerve-shredding drama of the penalty shoot-out?

With all of the key goals from our glorious run and edited highlights from the final itself, 'Istanbul: The Fans Story' takes you on a magical trip down memory lane in the company of a trio of fans who each have their own special stories to tell from an experience they'll never forget.

This three hour show airs for the first time this Sunday night at 8pm - three years to the day since Rafa Benitez led the Reds to our fifth European Cup success.

If you were there yourself then enjoy the memories. If you weren't then you'll love listening to the stories.

On tonight 8pm til 11. lfc.tv channel.

Quality viewing.

Mancs and southern fairies can f*ck off to and from Moscow. Nothing...NOTHING will touch that night in Istanbul.

Not even close.
