Solid performance last night from the young lads. Agger and particularly Alonso looked efficient and took command well. Kewell sort of flattered to deceive up until his well taken goal. Skrtel, also got a useful 45 in, and was unlucky to strike the bar later in the match.
As for the rest...Insua and Nemeth, along with the steady, unfussy Plessis can't be too many miles away from being considered for a bigger stage at some point in the not too distant. The rest of the lads played their part (Flynn, Spearing, Darby) without setting any trees alight - and almost completely dominated the game, reducing the Man Utd team to very little reward. Nice to see Mr Neville getting a warm reception from the 'home' supporters too!
Overall, the reserve squad is one that can be viewed with some degree of well placed optimism for the future. Many of whom, maybe already knocking on the big boss' door pretty much sooner than expected.
