, waste of time.
Does it really take over four years to sort out two positions ?
I still haven't given up on Kewell, a player needs time coming back from such a catalogue of injuries. If by the summer he hasn't shown anything we should get shut , but I think given the opportunity he will get better(playing wise)and no doubt will be on top form and fit to start in the CL FINAL.( finishing the game might be another matter)
His body's fu.cked s@int. Really talented player but he's now had 4 and a half years to get properly fit. How much longer do we give him?
It's not his fault but I think we need to face facts and say he's not up to playing professional football at this level on a consistent basis any more. Even if he stays fit til the end of the season the absolute maximum I'd offer him is a pay-as-you-play deal, which I can't see him accepting because someone like Portsmouth or Bolton will offer him a contract for a couple of years.
Harry Kewell is probably this club's biggest ever waste of money in hindsight. He cost us 5 million, then a reported 3 million a year in wages over 5 years. That'll be 20 million by the end of this season! Yet having said that, I don't blame the club for the deal, 5 years ago I thought that was a bargain and we were getting a top, top player. We've just been really unlucky with him.
