- I am very disappointed. When you put your blind faith on somebody and they disappoint you as a person, the professional aspect loses all value, it’s secondary. Sometimes the desire for power changes people. I would like to keep all the good memories but the whole situation was a surprise.

what exactly did pako do, its like he went in rafas house on christmas day and p*ssed on his kids     :no

i thought all he did was have a laugh with mourinho

im very split on this one. on one hand, moaureen is a good manager, he gets the players going, and he has been gracious about our great football club.

on the other hand, the guy is an absolute cnut

nanny i would take satan himself if he brought us the league.

i know your feeling on maureen, i detest the man, or rather i did when he was at chelsea, but i am trying to look at how we would react if he did those things as our boss, i am sure we would all love him.

My shout for boss if Raffa went would be WAIT FOR IT :D

Frank Rykarrd good young manager , nice style of coaching , plays the game which i love the passing game, But i would also have to prise Gary Mac away from Leeds as his assistant that would be my dream duo.

as opposed to the fat mouthed failure benitez who once again bad mouths the owners     :D    maureen knows how to win the league

just give rafa his money and get rid of him, if he seriously made those comments attributed to him this morning then he has gone even further down in my estimations and is obvioulsy looking to get the boot, lets just oblige him

like i said earlier nanny, we hated maureen because of who he was with and what he did, but i guarantee if rafa had won it twice and said the same things as maureen this forum would be full of threads saying how fantastic and funny he is

Rafa's not a failure and never has been . Mourinho is a kn@b mate, i don't know if you get the same type of press we've had over here mate(being genuine there)but we've never been out of the press since all this kicked off. That will be tenfold if maureen comes in . I will never accept him as our manager mate ,not him or his ego. Rafa spat his dummy out and he did so with good reason. He brought to everyones attention just what a complete load of bollox the yanks have made of the club. JURGEN KLINNSMAN ffs peewee ,what does that tell you about our owners.

Rafa's no different to Houllier, in fact Houllier won more cups than Rafa.

That's the cunt brigade at their best, let's not distinguish one cup from another.

Their logic:
LDV vans trophy = UCL

A cup is a cup is a cup.

For all those Maureen lovers, do you honestly think he guarantees title success?

His style of play is even more negative than Rafa. Think about the criticism you all gave Rafa for playing Lucas left mid. Maureen regularly played a midfield of Lampard, Makelele, Essien and Ballack. Hardly expansive.

It seems that most of Maureen's fans say it doesn't matter that he plays dull football so long as he wins the league. But what if he doesn't? If he comes in this summer and we don't mount a title challenge, will you call for his head?

I've posted in other threads about Maureen's transfers so I'll just summarise here. He inherited his best players. If you examine his buys you'll see he rarely gets a good buy for under £15m. We've only bought one player more than that, what makes you think he'll have that money to spend. He's also made very expensive mistakes.

It's ironic that Maureen is guilty of many of the criticisms aimed at Rafa yet people love him. ???

But if he comes in the summer and wins us two League titles on the bounce, I don't think anyone will be calling for his head..... do you ?

Its all ifs and maybes, all anyone can do is call it the way they see it. If Rafa goes I think Mourinho is probably our best option.

Not sure about Rijkaard.  His teams have played nice passing football, but to be fair he's taken over a Dutch team who had world class players and then a Barcelona team who had world class players and the reputation to attract any player he wanted.  The point is that any manager could have had those teams playing attractive football with the players they had.  And still he managed to lose the Spanish title to a poor Real Madrid team last season.  I'm not convinced at all that he's a top manager.

Understand were your coming from John but couldnt the same thing then be said about Mourino. Took over a good team most of the players bought by Ranieri but then had the funds to attract some of the rest of the players he needed.

Im still in the Benitez camp but if he did go i just think Rijkard is another option to look at apart from all the we want Maureen at all costs lot.

Fair enough.

Want to emphasise here that I was not a fan at all of Mourinho and there are things I don't like about him.  I just think that he's the best chance we have of us winning the title in the next few years.

Don't get me wrong I will support Benitez as long as he's here and if he turns it around I'll be delighted.  But in my heart of hearts I don't think we're making enough progress under him and if I'm honest I don't think we'll win the Premiership under him.

I do agree that a young manager is probably the way to go for us and I suppose Rijkaard is in that category, he wouldn't be my choice though.

This was from the pink last night and in my opinion it makes sense from a fans point of view anyway. Not as Raffas assistant but advisory role.

Kenny would be ideal for Anfield role
Feb 9 2008 by Tony Barrett, Liverpool Echo

Kenny would be ideal for Anfield role

KENNY DALGLISH took to the stage at the ECHO Sports Personality Awards on Monday night and reminded everyone what qualities Liverpool Football Club has been so sorely lacking in recent months.

Class, humility and dignity used to be watchwords at Anfield at a time when dirty linen being washed in public was as rare an occurrence as a season without a trophy.

Far too often during the all too difficult last 12 months the qualities which made the Liverpool Way the route all other clubs in English football looked to follow have been cast aside as personal agendas and vendettas have been put before the good of the club.

And because of that, when Dalglish addressed the Echo Arena his adherence to the old Liverpool way of doing things highlighted just how badly the club has been getting things wrong since it was taken over a year ago.

There were even those in the audience who spoke of a desire to see Dalglish back at the club he still loves so he can help restore the values which have been conspicuous only by their absence of late.

That would be a tall order, of course. Dalglish’s status among Liverpool’s fans means there is a risk that his mere presence could overshadow the manager if he was given some sort of role at Anfield.

Such a situation has occurred at Barcelona, where Johann Cruyff looms large over each and every coach who takes charge of first team affairs at the Nou Camp, even though Cruyff is only an adviser to club president Joan Laporta.

The “ghost on the wall” situation is nothing new, either, as a succession of Manchester United managers who wilted in the presence of the late Matt Busby can testify.

Liverpool managed to avoid such problems when they stopped Bill Shankly from turning up at Melwood after the legendary Scot was succeeded by Bob Paisley, and although it was harsh on Shankly, it was undoubtedly for the good of the club.

Having legends hanging around isn’t always good for a club but with Liverpool currently being in so desperate need of the qualities Dalglish has in abundance maybe the time is right to get him back on board in some capacity.

Although, judging by the way he responded to being offered the manager’s job more than 20 years ago, it might not be all that easy to convince him.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, he said: “I got a phone call from Peter Robinson asking could he come up to the house to see me with John Smith.

“The club had only just given me a four-year contract so I didn’t really know what they wanted to see me about.

“Then Peter said they wanted to talk to me about the manager’s job and I said ‘well, don’t worry about that, you can still come anyway’.”

Liverpool has had no finer servant than Kenny Dalglish and if a role was created for him it could only be good news for the club and its fans.

I actually liked Mourinho when he first came to these shores. (I think the runnin down the touchline as Mcarthy scored that goal at Old Trafford kinda swung me!!) But........ it became tiresome, almost laughable and embarressing to watch as he squirmed and petulantly ignored his and his teams failings. Yes he won 2 league titles, and a few cups but he didnt arrive at a team in desperate need of rebuilding did he? Not like Rafa did when he came here. And won the ECL in that first season.

We have a tradition of knowledge and respect at this club. Where exactly that leads us to wantin Mourinho here I have absolutely no idea whatsoever !!!
Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
