And if what I have been told is true, I wouldn't p!ss on him if he was on fire!

What would that be?

I'd be interested to know that aswell  ???

If its true it will be common knowledge soon enough.

i.e. it's not true.

Inter Milan explore availability of Liverpool's Gerrard
tribalfootball.com - February 03, 2008

Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is exploring the potential availability of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.

Controcampo says Mancini has spoken with Italian agent Giorgio de Giorgios about sounding out the possibility of luring Gerrard to the San Siro at the end of the season.

Inter see Gerrard as the final piece needed to rule Europe and are convinced the Reds ace is unsettled at Anfield as they struggle to compete with the Premiership's best. Failure to qualify for the Champions League next season will be all the encouragement Inter need to make an offer in the summer.

Alonso leads Kop clearout

Rafa Benitez is ready to launch a clearout at Anfield with Xabi Alonso set to leave the club.
The Liverpool manager will offload Alonso, former Southampton and Aston Villa striker Peter Crouch, ex-Leeds winger Harry Kewell and John Arne Riise and striker Andriy Voronin in the summer.

Alonso, the £15m-rated midfielder is the most high profile name on the Benitez's blacklist.

Benitez is under pressure to trim the squad and the wage bill at Anfield, especially having fallen out of the title race and League Cup so spectacularly this season.

The News of the World says Crouch could return to Aston Villa or join Portsmouth in the summer.

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch will join Manchester City at the end of the season.

The People says Crouch and Michael Johnson are heading for a shock £12million swap in a delayed deal that was scheduled for the January window.

England striker Crouch has been cleared for a new link-up with his former national team boss Sven Goran Eriksson at Manchester City.

But Rafa Benitez's dogged determination to land Johnson for Liverpool is driving the deal.

The transfer should have gone through already but was held up by Johnson's injury lay-off after an aborted return from a double hernia operation.

It was a done deal until 19-year-old Johnson broke down after being rushed back from surgery. The midfield prodigy will be out for around another four weeks, putting the switch back to the end of the season. Johnson's heart is set on a move to Anfield, a dream he was in line to realise last summer until Eriksson's arrival as City boss halted Benitez's first attempt to buy him.

How good is this Johnson fella... is he really worth that much  ???  I've only seen glimpses of him in action, and while some of it looked good, I can't help but think, that the price tag has mainly got to do with him being english. On another note, isn't he also a central midfielder  ???  I do believe, there are quite a few other areas, which are in more need of investment (like pretty much all our wide positions and the striker department).

Next Steven Gerrard from what I have heard. Can't say I have seen that much of him but he looks fast. If we are going to sign him , maybe thats why Alonso is rumoured to be on his way?

That might be the case mate. It's just that we've already got the current Steven Gerrard aswell as the brazilian Gerrard in Lucas... do we really need more Gerrards  :p  :D . In all seriousness, he might be a very good addition if we were to sell Alonso, but I just don't want a signing of Johnson to affect which wide players and striker(s) we're going to buy. These positions desperately need reinforcements in the summer imo.

I think the key maybe that he is fast, our squad has very few fast players so to sell one of our slowest in Xabi and bring in someone who is as fast as Johnson might not be so bad. Maybe he is similar to Gerrard but doesnt sulk when played on the wing    :D

Fast ? Are we talking about the same bloke here ? Did the panel on MOTD a few weeks back not point out that one of his failings was that he was "slow" ?

I hope not mate, when I watched him he was lightning fast. Left 3 players for dead before scoring.
