Would like to see defoe here , an afforable option to get you goals but with our style of play i don't think rafa will be intersted in him and i can't see him fitting in to the style that we play either like bigmick said "contributes little or nothing to team play"

I think now the league seems to have slipped away from us, we may as well wait till the summer to make our signings unless we see a genuine bargain. We are supposedly signing a CB and I think thats probably enough for now. What I would like to see is a few of the players who arn't going to be part of our future plans being sold.

Maybe I just don't like spurs players but I don't think Defoe is going to be the answer to anyone's prayers. I think he will get a few goals wherever he goes but not enough to pay for the rest of his game which to me isn't up to much.

Edit having been reminded by Hacksaws post, I agree we should of course sign Mascherano.

If the sale of Momo for £11m means we secure Mascha then I am all for it. I'd be sorry too see Momo go as I feel he's not been given a fair crack after showing a lot of potential last season.

With regards Defoe....if we can get rid of 1-2 out of Crouch, Voronin and Kuyt and bring him in I think he'd offer us more options up front and I think he'd make a good combo with Torres.

Not a great rumour this and I hope its not true.  The reason we are looking to sign a CB for around £7 million quid is because Agger is well and truly crocked and might not make it back.

Seriously hope this is not true :(
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Defoe is just another Craig Bellemy, hope we stay away from him :(

Where have you heard this ??? I very much doubt (and certainly do not hope) this is true. I think he is just being brought in, as Rafa has wanted some backup since the summer now. Hyypia isn't getting any younger, and it's been clear for everyone for quite a while, that we need to strengthen in central defence.

Finished because of a broken Metatarsal... ???

Can't see that being the case.

I for one wouldnt mind defoe at anfield. What do you think??

I think he is a very good player and far far better than Kuyt or Voronin, if we signed him, kept Crouch and Torres and used Babel up top sometimes then we would be fine.
If he is in the last year of his contract he wouldnt cost silly money, and he has been told he is free to leave.

Would be a decent signing.

It came from a friend who works in the academy.  To be fair he wasn't 100% sure of it, just someting that was going around Anfield.  Normally I would just discard it but it seems strange to me that we are paying so much for a player that you would think is only going to be a back up to Agger and Carra.  There are other areas in the team that need money spending.

What about this ?

Sissoko: Juve Transfer Close To Completion  Juventus are close to completing the signing of Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko, the player himself has admitted.

It has been no secret that the main objective of the Bianconeri’s January transfer campaign has been to find a new centre-midfielder.

This led to links with a host of top names, including Rafael Van der Vaart, Diego and Javier Mascherano.

However it now seems virtually certain that it will be Mascherano’s Liverpool team-mate Momo Sissoko who will be moving to the Stadio Olimpico in Turin.

“The negotiations with Juve are close to conclusion,” Sissoko told RMC.

“I am waiting for news in the coming days and while nothing has been signed yet, I can confirm that there are advanced negotiations between the Bianconeri and my agents.

“Certainly I would be excited to go to Turin. It is a prestigious club, it would be a new challenge and I could demonstrate my quality.”

The cost of the transfer is believed to be around €15m, which will leave Juve €5m remaining of their €20m January transfer budget.

15 Million  take their hand off, almost double what we reportedly paid for him and the money can go towards securing the  permanent signing of Mascherano

The article said euros not pound sterling mate.
Even if that was the case it would be good business if true though.

15m euros = £11m.

If that's on the table, it's an absolute no-brainer. For a player who's never been playing worse since arriving, you won't get any better.

£11 million for Sissoko is damn fine business in my eyes. It may just pay the bulk of the fee for Mascherano as we will then need another CM if Momo does go and it may just strengthen Rafa's hand in that argument.
