Wins are always good, but from a purely entertainment perspective, it is a bit difficult to watch us play. For a large part of the pre-season, I felt that we needed a 2nd creative striker who would play on a consistent basis. However, I don't believe, at this point in time, that Rafa wants that sort of a player.
Even with Alonso and Agger back in the side, we still seem to have issues up-front with Torres being the only one who can create chances out of nothing.
Which leads me to a rather controversial question for the die-hard Gerrard fans:
"If Fabregas did not control mid-field and create attacking options CONSISTENTLY, would Arsenal be playing this way?"
My view is that Gerrard does not have the sort of guile required by a midfield maestro to give Liverpool the free-flowing football that some of us desire. He posed more of an attacking threat on the right.
Either that, or Rafa gets a creative 2nd striker to replace Kuyt, one who can not only effectively link up midfield with our attacking options out-wide as well as up-front, but do so by creating goal-scoring chances. I've lost faith in Kuyt's ability in that position. Being a work-horse as a striker is very commendable, ONLY if it is accompanied with goals. Kuyt appears to have lost composure in front of goal (and for those that might reply "but he scored in xx game", I'd ask you to look back over the last 12 months) and does not create enough chances to warrant playing in that position.
One last comment: the sort of football I'd like to watch does require a fairly settled side. I have not commented on rotation before, but the concept of a 'team' applies in all walks of life. It is about getting to know your team-mate and understanding how you can make use of his/her strengths. I can only hope that our players feel the same way about their team-mates. *Above average* individuals put in hard work and long hours to achieve this. A good team, in any walk of life, doesn't magically get together to deliver quality work 90 minutes before a deadline is due, and the same holds for football. If the focus re: rotation is all about "resting" and when "I get my chance to play", then I'm afraid we're getting nowhere with rotation. After all, what is the point of rotating, if players don't understand each other's playstyles, anyway?

I'm a pro-rotation, happy clapper mate. I just thought a bit of love might work wondersI don't want Rafa sacked either, just think we might need a friendly approachable assistant. Nothing wrong in that is there?
