Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yea gerrad and crouch need their hearts mended and as for the rest , so far so good .. Its good news that they have lost owen for this match as his pace would really trouble hypia but they still have martins and shola ameobi , milner will be a handful to handle if he plays and their defence will look weak and depleted without capca , taylor and faye , I fancy gerrard to beat the cr@p out of the arrogant barton and if we attack , i am confident that newcastle would crumble under the pressure and we can win this game without much effort . Does any1 know if harper will be playing in goal or given ?

Torres should run rings around whatever makeshift defence they assemble. Their first choice quartet haven't exactly kept it tight, so this could really be a canter, particularly if it opens up a bit.

Well, our biggest problem is we haven't allowed 2 centrebacks to gel. We keep putting out various combinations of Rozenhal, Faye, Cacapa, and Taylor. The first 3 are good players on their day, they just keep getting chopped and changed too much.

I think it was Rozenhal and Faye who played last week. Allardyce seems to prefer Cacapa ahead of Rozenhal, though, and Cacapa will be available after a bit of an injury.

The last game he played was against Portsmouth where we let in 3 goals in the first 11 minutes... 2 or which were arguably down to him. The excuse was he was playing with an injury.

Apparently he's better now, but no doubt his confidence will be shot.

How do you reckon your line up will look come saturday all in all?

If we're not going to play Crouch then we should play Babel. Newcastle struggle with anything quick so we should look to overload with pace and play it over the top.

I would still play Crouch, btw.

Definitely Crouch and Torres up top, maybe with Babel on the right if Benayoun's still injured (any news on that btw?).

Don't think he'll make it mate. I seem to remember reading somewhere, that Rafa stated the Newcastle game would come too soon for him, as well as Alonso. But I'm not a hundred procent sure on this one.

Should be something along the lines of:

Given
Beye, Cacapa, Rozenhal, N'Zogbia
Barton, Butt, Geremi
Martins, Viduka, Milner

The midfield is the biggest question mark. Smith has been starting a lot recently, so he may be in there. Emre has been back for a couple of games now, too.

Obviously N'Zogbia isn't a left-back, but he's been playing there lately just to fit him into the team. If Zog was to play further up then Enrique would play left back.

Cacapa's fitness hasn't been confirmed yet, if he doesn't play our only fit cover would be a young'un: Edgar. So Beye might move to centreback with Geremi dropping in at right-back.

The forward line is pretty nailed on.

If Allardyce went 4-4-2 it would still be the same 11 more or less, with Milner dropping back into midfield.

---Babel-----Masch----Gerrard----kewell

Babel and kewell can push up to support the two front man and can provide the balls for crouch to head , adn knowing rafa's a :censored: ? he probaly do stupid things

:bump

Easy to forget that we've actually got a game tomorrow. Enough of the silly speculative/overhyped media tripe concerning Rafa, he is training his team don't you know.

Reina

Finnan
Carragher
Agger
Aurelio

Gerrard
Mascherano
Sissoko
Babel

Torres
Crouch

Not confident about tommorrow now, after internationals, early kick off, away from home and all the shite that has happened in the last 24 hours.

it's not as if newcastle haven't got their problems either. there's a massive rift between the churchill dog and mike "five bellies" ashley aswell behind the scenes.

as soon as your chairman goes to watch a game in with his own fans and gets the fans views, the manager is a lame duck walking imo.
