Sami hyypia - Your time is up

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby 7_Kewell » Wed Oct 24, 2007 10:19 pm

Sami Hyypia will go down as a liverpool legend.  He's been a SOLID defender for almost a decade and he's won everything except the Premier League....but i'm afraid he's not good enough anymore.  It's no coincidence that since Agger's injury, our defence has gone to sh*t.

Just like Fowler last season, Sami another legend who's past it and shouldn't be a regular in the 1st 11.

Have to agree.

I would give Hobbs the job a few games ago to get him the experience.

i'm really not trying to make him a scapegoat.  EVERYONE played badly today, but Sami really can't cut it no more. Personally i'd love to see him stay in a back up capacity until his testimonial, but there's no way he should be playing 90mins every week.

Its not his fault he is the only half decent center back we have for cover, nobody else was signed so he is the only back up with any experience at all that we have

He's got to go, Carragher and Finnan have suddenly looked poor since he came into the team.

Sami has been one of our best centre backs we have ever had, he still could do a job as back up, but for him to play week in and week at his age out is just not fair. Why did we not sign another centre back? Is this why we do not push forward as much at the moment, the rest of the team do not feel confident in going forward, no confidence in Sami?

My God . You've got short memories !

Don't blame Sammi for tonight. We've got a fully operational rotation system working.

Whenever a player is injured or out of form they'll be rotated ! unless, of course, we don't buy or train up replacements we just use the roration system.

IS right lad.

ITs Rafa's fault that Sami is too slow now.

Rafa Out Rafa Out.

You too have a short memory, one that misses out trips to Istanbul, Cardiff and Athens in consecutive seasons.

Considering our club has been fortunate enough to have the 2 all time greatest centrebacks that have ever played the game, Alan Hansen and Mark Lawrenson, you're either too young to have seen them or too ignorant to know better.

I'd rate Phil Thomson and even Gary Gillespie as better centrebacks that played in the LFC shirt than Hyypia
