or do you think SAMI HYYPIA  is comming to the end of his stay at liverpool .
over the last few game he has seemed slow and at time put us in some bad situations, also he seems slower to the ball when he is coming up for corners.
dont get me wrong i think the guy has been a rock in the past for us but not right now

Not sure if he is coming to the end mate but he certainly isn't playing anywhere near his ability. Carra is carrying him at times when you would have expected the Big Finn to be helping Carragher settle into what is after all a new position for him.

In the absence of any serious contender for his position I hope he finds his form soon and we stop leaking goals...

Its a concern when you consider in all but 2 Prem games this season we have conceded at least 1 goal. I know at the present time there is a need for a striker but in Raffa's mind I'm pretty sure his priority will be to sort the defence out. Josemi started well but has faded, Carra's been superb in a new position for him (yet again!) , Left Back is by no means secure and Hyppia has been underperforming.

The Midfield is fine and we have made big improvements with the addition of Xabi and Luis plus the return to form of Risse.

They say Rome wasn't built in a day but they arent competing in the Premier League !!!!!! :D

Personally though I'm well pleased with the progress this season so far and seeing as I go a lot of the games I'm particulalrly pleased with the quality of the entertaining football on show ..

Walk on :)

Hyypia lacks serious pace and he's passing is quite poor. Which means that we can't afford Hyypia to be the reason we conceed goals. How has Henchoz played for the reserves?

He's still a quality player and is performing well. He isn't as aggressive as he was, he's not concentrating as well and he's not got the composure on the ball he once had, but he's still an excellent player.

He has been in the league long enough for some of the opposition forward to have found him out. He is a great defender with a great heart but he is preditable.

Hyypia was tailor made for Houllier football. Our defence laid very deep and there was almost no space for the opposition. Now that we are more attacking and positive, we leave more space for the opposition. It is as simple as that. Hyypia can't play such football. And his passing lets him down, especially now after he has lost his self confidence.

He's getting a bit old, and even the best of them need to be replaced eventually. We should keep Carragher as he is only 26 (I think?) then look for another centre half who can play further up the pitch and keep up with fast strikers. I would like to see Ledly King and I think we have what we need to bring him to this club..as long as man u or arsenal don't step in.

I agree, we need somone who can bring the ball out of defence and spray it about a bit.
Ledley King would be a good signing.

Josemi, is not helping. He get's caught out of position and both Sami and Carra, get pulled out of position to cover his lulu's !!
The defence is not working like a well oiled machine just yet

Jeez what a difference a week makes. I got laughed off for suggesting Ledley King not long ago. I said he would cost 12 million and got laughed off for that too. If he's any cheaper than that, I reckon its an absolute steal.
