Liverpool are reported to be frontrunners in the hotly contested race to sign one of Denmark’s most highly rated teenagers, Simon Kjaer.
Reds manager Rafael Benitez has already sent his scouts to Denmark in order to find out how good the 18-yr-old defender is.
The player’s agent, Mikkel Beck, insists that the Merseyside club have already been sufficiently impressed enough to sound out the youngster’s club, FC Midtyjlland, to the possibility of his services.
"You realise how special this kid is when Liverpool watch him and tell you he's good enough to play in their first team.
"Messi, Rooney, Dos Santos - he is special like them.
"Lille and Monaco were the first to show an interest, then Real made a much better offer and it was turned down. He is worth a lot more."
Beck has let it be known that Kjaer is widely tipped to become as good as some of the game’s greatest defenders.
Not heard much about him apart from the fact that a lot of clubs are interested, from Middlesborough to Madrid , figures are around the 3 Million mark.
