Liverpool have signed 19 year old Lyon Midfielder Damien Plessi.

'He is a good player, big and strong, and we're sure he'll do well for us,' Rafael Benitez told lfc.tv.

'He's only a young boy with plenty of time to work on his game but it depends on his progress how quickly he can force his way into the first team.'

If he carries on signing Midfielders we are going to have to change the song to "we've got the ONLY Midfield in the world !!"

Damien Plessi - 19

I think its getting kind of ridiculous. Hard not to be frustrated if you are Lucas or Guthrie, it is already hard enough as it is being a "player for the future" when you have "the midfield in the world" in front of you, but now you have to compete within the "future best midfield in the world" as well.

Heck you can also throw in Astrit Ajdarevic-17 as another central midfielder for the future, and Jay Spearing - 18 is another good defensive midfielder, unfortunately might never make it due to his size though

It's worth a punt if our scouts feel he has the potential to be world class.

Maybe he can play in other positions, you never know. Given his height perhaps Rafa might try and convert him into a CB.

Or sell him for more money in a year or two. Buisness it is.
