I don't think the issue of strength or build is really an issue for Quaresma, he appears to be as strong and built as Ronaldo is. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why he has improved so much at Porto.

I 'd also say that at manure Ronaldo was given the time to demonstrate his ability. At Barca with Quaresma, this was not necessarily the case, pressure from the top has a much greater influence in whether a player stays or goes.In England the structure is different, and the pressure is different.

Must admit that Simao has never really done it for me. He's a skillful player but Queresma looks like a player who could be worth the entrance fee alone. Hard to really judge him from the highlight reels on YouTube but he looks like an exciting player, somone who could lift the crowd everytime he gets the ball. We desperately need a few players with a trick or two in their locker and the balls to run at their man, Torres is one, this lad could be another.

I think Simao would be the safer option, in terms of crossing, set pieces and goal scoring he is probably the most reliable winger we could buy.

Quaresma has much more potential, but hasn't the same consistency in crossing and scoring that Simao has. Although he is much younger, and like I said, he could develop into someone much better than Simao.

We've talked aout Quaresma before and well, I didn't see much of him in Barcelona, and what I saw he didn't impress me. He came to Barcelona in a moment that it was difficult to play well at that team, he was very young... you never know how the player will do. What I know though, is that to be brilliant in the portuguese league is easier than in the Spanish league. Many of the stereotypes you have about non-british football are true in this league, the pace is slower, everything is slower, so you never know what will happen with the players coming from there.

Quite honestly I doubt he's Rafa's first option if we have a decent money to spend.

I don't want Quaresma at all with the prices being qouted.
An extrem High risk- high reward player.

Much rather have Mancini or Simao.
Quaresma movies makes for great movies on youtube highlights but is way too selfish, makes way too many mistakes and his crosses are inaccurate. He isn't that good at scoring and would take a few seasons to adapt.

Simao is more like Garcia. A great shot and a good teamplayer.
Not always as spectacular as Quaresma but shows up in way more games.

Mancini has got great skills a good shot and a great player overall. But it seems Roma will set any price tag to scare off everyone.

Quarasema fell out with Rijkaard at Barca.  Rijkaard wanted to play him at LB and Querasema wasnt happy.

From what I have seen from him he is not a bad player but I dont think he is the world beater some of yous reckon he is.

The fact is we need quality wingers and when it comes down to it he could be the answer. If he is our top target then go for him otherwise we are going to end up with someone shite for half the money.

If we are going to do this thing we may as well do it right and get are top targets and that includes it would seem Quaresma.

People were writing exactly the same stuff about Ronaldo two seasons ago.

spion wrote:This player is the real deal. I know there are other threads around talking about the wingers we are looking at but this player is a fantastic world class talent that would truly help our team come alive. If there's one thing Benitez's team lacks it is this sort of talent. Quaresma is better than Ronaldo & I for one would love to see his name on a Liverpool shirt. Sign him ASAP! He's :censored: quality! Can go past people like they arn't there, and he embarrassed Makelele more than once in the CL. Any player that can do that has got it. People who are doubting that he isn't as good or better than Ronaldo, start believing it. I'd be chuffed if we signed him. Now that would be real intent.

Is Rijkaard a moron ? One of the best wingers in the world and he wants to play him at LB ?

No wonder he lost the title to madrid last season... (one of the weaker real madrid teams in recent seasons).

BTW, would like Quarasema to come here. He is more gifted than ronaldo. I would even classify him being better than joaquin.

He is single-handedly creating all the chances for porto. If we get him....our strikers will score loads of goals....

BTW, the chances of buying  Quarasema are pretty slim seeing how rafa has bid 10 million pounds for ryan babel (not confirmed though).

Would prefer Quarasema but ryan babel ain't bad....
