Tevez - 30mil

I can't see him leave for less than £25 million.
MSI paid £14m and they are in it to make money and in no hurry to sell a player who is only going to get better.

And sooner or later someone will pay 25-30 million easily.
When it comes to the very expensive players, it's hard to say if they are worth the fee or their wages, but if you want top class you will have to pay a bit over the odds.
Just they way it is.

If Eto'o will cost £40m, Villa £35m, Torres £25m, then 25-30 isn't out of order for Tevez.
Top class isn't cheap and it won't be cheaper in the future.

Chelsea have made another foray into the transfer market by swooping to sign Claudio Pizarro from Bayern Munich.

The Peruvian international has moved to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer, after his contract at the Allianz Arena wound down, and follows Steve Sidwell and Oldham starlet Danny Philliskirk to the club.

Pizarro had been linked with a move to Juventus, but Chelsea stepped in to trump the Old Lady.

The striker wrapped up the formalities of his move on Friday and expressed delight at securing a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

"I think it's very important for me to win some titles and I have the chance here to win them," Pizarro told Chelsea TV. "The most important thing is the Champions League which I was looking to win with Bayern, but we didn't have the chance.

"I think now we have a good team, a good trainer and the chance to win it.

"I had some interesting offers, but the most important thing was that I talked to the coach, I talked to the people here, and they were very interested. We have many chances to win titles here and that's what I want."

Blues chief Jose Mourinho had been keen to boost his striking options, as he will lose the services of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou during next term due to African Cup of Nations commitments.

Hopefully Chelsea will now lose any interest in Tevez leaving the way clear for us. £20million is probably as high as I would go for Tevez.

Or we could have him on loan like Mascherano, pay agents fees to MSI, that way we could see how he goes, maybe agree an option as part of the deal to purchase him at the end of the loan.

Ah, remember the old Joaquin thread?, 78 pages or so and he didn't came eventually.

I cannot be bothered with rumours, I want the players signed up and then start discussing!!! bring them on!

BTW, Pizarro is not a super signing up, is he?

I'd tend to agree with that Sabre, it's just speculation really, we exhaust every area of debate so we speculate!

Pizarro is a quality free transfer IMO, he's nothing REALLY special, but he's scored 150 or so career goals and has quite a lot of quality.

Was the golden boy when he signed, but I dont think Bayern have even offered him a contract. 27/8 years old probably just cover for the African cup, who will be happy to sit on the bench most of the year.

Ya, sounds like the way it could go but I honestly think West ham has the 1st choice if that scenario comes into play...

But wil probably end up with Bent, Amuri or Derbyshire anyway.
The reason I think Pizarro and Sidwell signed for Chelski is that they offer so much in wages like West ham did with O'neill and Upson.
We never offer 40,000/week for squad and backup players but Chelski offer 50,000 for any player.

I don't think we'll end up signing the people you mentioned, or at least I hope not!

As for enticing players, we should offer a reasonable wage, not one that tries to match Chelsea because we know we can't compete, if that player doesn't want to come here because of the difference between earning £30,000 p/w to £50,000 p/w, then I'd say they have the wrong attitude, the wrong motivation and I don't want to see them wearing the shirt.

Not gonna argue with those points.

Unfortunately it's becoming more and more common that players behave like mercenaries and only care about the size of their wallets and not where their play.

Those loyal like Carragher who never would like to move to another clubs even if the pay was higher elsewhere are getting fewer every year I'm afraid.

I hate that it has come to this, but nothing you can do.

I do think there are other factors that come into play when players consider which club to move to, especially if they're already ridiculously rich. I think country, language, culture, city, players already at the club, the manager, direction of club, european football etc....... all have a part to play, but with some players it is clear that money plays THE major part in enticing them to a club, and as wage inflation grows (9% increase this season) I see the trend of mercenaries continuing.

Yeah very true. I dont know how much truth there is in it but I heard John Terry and Fat Frank were haggling over a few thoushand in their new contracts. Talk about greedy.

Still backl to Tevez, we can talk all day but like Sabre said, remember the Joaquin thread.

We have to wait and see just how true Gillete and Hicks stay to their word.

OH MY GOD !!!!
I PRAY THIS IS NOT JUST A RUMOUR ...
(from gossip monkey)

Liverpool to sign West Hams Tevez.

Tevez looking to link up with countryman Mascherano at Anfield.

It’s believed Kia Jorbachain has sealed a 32 million deal that will take Hammers favourite Tevez to Anfield.

The young Argentinian who was in blistering form at the tail end of last season for West Ham has attracted interest from the biggest clubs in Europe including Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Tevez has not met with the Liverpool manager but is believed to be settled in England but would like to be playing champions league football next season and would like to pair up with his old friend Mascherano at Anfield.

This move will show Liverpools new owners intent on taking the club forward looking to challenge for the premiership title next season.

Tevez is still young and he has all the qualities that we want in a striker, hardworking, strong, deadly, fast and most importantly he is butt uggly. :D

For 30 million I'd bring him in. :buttrock  :buttrock  :buttrock

This would be one of the few strikers I would be proud of playing in our team but who also got excellent qualities.

I'd pay 30 million for Tevez.

In todays market thats the kind of price you play for a quality player, we've just been brought out by two Yanks because Moores couldnt afford to take Liverpool further. Its my opinion that the Americans need to take us that step further in the finacial sense, to challenge for domestic honours we need to quality players. They are our missing link IMO, we all know that its not the quantity needed now, Rafa and the board have to take this kind of gamble to prove one way or the other, I reckon we've more chance of the title if we take the gamble. If not sigining mediocre players will leave us further behind and even morte frustrated as supporters, I dont know where the excuses will come from this time.

And on top of that if Carrick is worth 18m and Bent 17m then Tevez is easily worth 30 !
