The Daily Mail "learned" in an interview with Joorabchian that it would cost £40m to own him outright.

But there is no chance I would pay £30m for Tevez, I don't think he is worth it in any way. That is Eto'o money, Tevez is barely proven in Europe.

£30m is a price reserved for the PROVEN and the very best of those who are PROVEN.

Tevez IMO is a million miles away from being PROVEN at the top level of european football.

I heard that a deal was nearly done for bellamy and ??million for tevez and it was about to go through but Bellamy pulled out.
Probably just another rumour but sounds interesting.

IMO I think tevez will go for about the 15m mark, teams always put a large amount on a players head but it doesn't necessary mean he will go for that much.

I think with having mascerano in our team that will be an advantage for us

No way he's going to cost 15 million.

The people who own him paid like 10 million pounds for him. That was 3 years ago or something.  His contract with them was for like 1 million a year also. You do the math..

He won't go for less than 25, IMO.

You're right there. But on the subject of proven players, Eto'o isn't really proven in Europe either. Well, certainly not in other leagues, or one as different as the EPL. There is, however, one player in Spain that is proven in our league that would warrant that kind of price and I certainly wouldn't mind us spending it on him. I know his name may be met with disdain, and the notion of him playing in our colours thought of as a downright horror, but the man is leathal and proven goal machine nomatter where he goes. Van Nistelrooy. Of course any speculation to this is rediculous, but he's be f'ckin perfect, make no mistakes about that. You arn't buying a player with him; you're buying at least 30 goals a season in the league.

Only time will tell but what happens if no-one is prepared to pay 25 mill for him.

IMO I think he will go for about 15mill with add on such as if the team wins the league they get another couple of mill etc

Any player outside of the EPL is unproven in the EPL, you can make that argument with any player outside England who has had no experience here, and you could cite Schevchenko as an example of this. But, Eto'o in my opinion has attributes that make his game suited to the EPL, namely his athleticism, his pace and his desire to succeed.

And as for Eto'o not being proven in "europe", I completely disagree, he scores bundles of goals both in Spain and in the UCL. He has the UCL winners medal to match.

I can't see how you can get any more "proven" than that?

Is that to say every player outside the EPL should not be considered as they have no experience in this league?

Football is about gambles, and buying Eto'o would be a reasonable gamble in my opinion.

You cite Van Nistelrooy, but that's not going to happen.

As for him scoring "at least 30 goals" in the league, I think it was more like 20-25 goals each season for him.

MSI paid £14m for him, I can hardly see them settling for £15m plus add ons.

They have already milked a few million out of west ham for his services, now I think they will want to milk some more before they sell him. And as I pointed out earlier, his release clause is believed to be £40m.

Unless a Real Madrid or another big spender come in with a silly offer of something like £25m+ then I don't see him being sold outright.
