I wish. Lyon are one club who dont allow other clubs into bullying them to sell or drop there price. They dont need the money so dont have to worry about pricing players out of the market.  They ask for a fee and expect the buyer to come close to it.  i.e Essian and Diarra.  Both players wanted to leave but Lyon made sure they got the big fee's they wanted.  They will do the same with Malouda.  Just this time they are saying if he doesnt go before 30th July he aint going anywhere

According to the Spanish press the agreement is around 5M quid... which might not be an important sum for premiership standards nowadays but it's a decent sum for the money is being moved in Spain as of late (until the new tb rights agreement reach, there's not much money in Spanish clubs)

Good luck to you Gonzales!! I'm really surprised that he's leaving the club, he's a good player even better than Zenden
Now I understand why he didnt play yesterday

In fairness if the fee is anywhere near 5 million pounds we should be bundling him onto the first Easyjet flight available and getting him there sharpish.

thought he would be tailor made for the prem, what with his pace and ability to score goals....but it wasn't to be. good luck to the lad for the future

^^^^

This with bells on. That would be a cracking bit of business, given the fact that he's done nothing this season.

As with anyone leaving the club, I do feel for the lad. It was a difficult transfer, delayed so much that the hype machine built him up way too much, and we just didn't see any of the pace or the trickery that he offered in La Liga last year.

Cheers Gonzo. Knock 'em dead wherever you end up.  :D

Sorry to say he didn't really cut it, I am sure he will be a huge hit in spain, hopefully we can get some sort of future performance bonus out of his, his kind of skill requires space and time. Good luck mate.

According to a more reliable source, a Betis fan who knows well the club, Lopera won't pay that kind of money right now, under any circunstances.

Sorry to dissapoint you.

Zenden - yes, let him off.
But Gonzales, I'm unsure of....I've said before he should he given until the January transfer window, and I stand by that...

If Betis came in with an offer, then they might have forced Rafa's hand. If he stayed on until Jan and continued to play like :censored:, then we might have got no buyers for him then or had a lesser offer. But somehow, I think Rafa just got tired of waiting for him to come good. I believe Rafa is going in the right direction. Let's get right of the deadwood and wanna-bes...and go straight for the proven stock. With the $$$$ we have been promised, that should be our strategy. Last year, Rafa did not have that luxury so he had to bank on gamble buys. This year he should not. Anyone with decent experience in Football Manager will tell you that...
