just found this thread on another forum and nearly wet myself laughing at the memories, maybe this is for the older ones on the site.

anyway give me the memories that showed you were poor, you know what i mean cr@p trainers etc.

anyway the one that got me thinking (and we did actually have this) was the meter on the back of the TV, you had to put 50p in to watch the telly, that would last so long then you had to put more money in, in the old days of rented TVs

I honestly remember wearing an anti-faulklands war tee shirt in about 1987. Hand me downs from some dodgy cousins.

nah mate no stories about bein poor me dad has a good job i did get a second hand bike with rusty nutts and bolts and they tried to tell me it was new and me mates were rippin me about it so i sold it and said it was robbed
also i remember me mate and his brother robbin me neighbours milk off the doorstep it was well funny they were in there grotts runnin up the path and robbin the cow juice and leggin it i might txt him to remind him about it the gypo apart from that i cant remember much (dodgy 90's)

i remember when we used to play out as kids we quite often used to go to our mate daz's house for a drink. we were only allowed to have water as the orange squash was "saved for best"

at the time we just thought it was funny but thinking back his parents were probably flat broke. they lived in a sh*tty council flat and his dad was in and out of jobs like a feckin yoyo

I'm a 70's boy peewee, I used to go to school in a black coat, it even had NCB on the back. My grandad got it for me cos me parka had been nicked
