People who think its gonna be like Championship Manager at Anfield are wrong.

There will be no need to sell befroe we buy if the deals goes through, and the future will be debt free, but anyone who expects to see £30m signings every other week i nthe transfer windows are very much mistaken.

Im not expecting Championship manager, but football manager !!!  :D

No seriosuly I dont think any of us want to see us spending feeely as Chelsea do. The only thing that will be certain is that if there is a player Rafa is keen on you can bet that we will get him.

In a way im glad this has happened after the world cup as player prices would have been overinflated.

Also i read today about how UEFA are warning of the dangers of this sort of thing. :censored: hypocrits its ok for teams like Chelsea to go about spending 150m a year and nothing is said but when it comes to us they always have to take a swipe.

I remember hey had a swipe about us having too many not enough homegrown players when we played that stupid world club championship. Is it me or do they have a thing against us? :D

Yes - they're run by a bunch of wankbandits who are jealous of our illustrious past.

The vast majority were sh*te players (Platini being an obvious exception), and no doubt dreamed (and creamed) about joining the dominant reds as they plied their trade in some water-logged French hell hole.

THAT is why governing bodies don't like us.

That, and the fact that they're all f*cking French.

On 4th December 2006, through his Dubai International Capital (DIC) Investment Group, Sheikh Mohammed has engaged in takeover negotiations for Liverpool Football Club in a deal rumoured to be worth £479m. As an adjunct to this takeover, the Dubai International Capital Group have also initiated a bid to purchase Tranmere Rovers F.C. for £19.75m. DIC see Tranmere Rover's role as being a feeder club to Liverpool Football Club as Tranmere Rovers are also based in Merseyside but play in a lower division in English professional football.

I don't know if this has been posted before but it certainly looks like he means business!

[quote="Anfield rapper"]Just been looking this Sheikh Mohammed chap up on Wikipedia (Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum) and was slightly suprised by what i found.

I think this sounds promissing. Looks like they want to make a few changes which will benefit our younger squad members. This imo is more important than individual signings. If we are going to compete with the big clubs we need to be bringing in the next Gerrard and the next Fowler and Carra. These are the players who give the club character. Also we need to be better promoted overseas. For to long now we have been behind Man u and others when it comes to promotion work.

This is my first post. I’m for the buyout as long as the traditions of the club are upheld. On the purchase of Tranmere Rovers, is this not a conflict of interests? They’re not in the same division obviously, but what happens if we meet in a cup run?

What's this about Tranmere?

Its whats being quoted by a couple of the other posters here:

“the Dubai International Capital Group have also initiated a bid to purchase Tranmere Rovers F.C. for £19.75m. DIC see Tranmere Rover's role as being a feeder club to Liverpool Football Club”

I may be wrong here, but is this not a conflict of interests?

Can't you sign up feeder clubs? I always thought you had to buy your feeder clubs. Tranmere would be a pretty decent prospect. Don't Fowler, McManaman and someone else own Tranmere?

I'm quite sure you can't own more than one club.

This sounds very iffy!

It is probably just another media slur. The media do not like Liverpool on any scale, they'll happily throw a spanner in the works to cause us more problems. I'm pretty sure you cannot buy more than one club, I think this rule applies to England, Europe and the world football.
