Quit your whining mate. I say SWP becasue we know hes going to leave and he would be good in that position.

Ok he made a bad desicion going to Chelsea but so have a lot of players. Shevchenko included.

course that wont happen... it simply means that we are on a level playing field with utd, chelsea, barcelona, madrid etc not left behind

I see, so when will we do a Chelsea and buy twenty two of the world's best players? I can't wait for our club to turn into a club you manage on football manager.

we dont need to and will not go out and buy 22 players.  chelsea are chelsea, let the chavs be. Have utd bought 22 players with the glazers money? barcelona are another rich club - how many big money signings did they make over the summer?

stop being so drastic - we all share your worries, but it simply wont happen like that. chelsea are the exeption because it happened to them first - 4 years ago they were different from any other enlish side. now there's them, utd, arsenal, portsmouth, west ham, then both newcastle and spurs are in talks and there's us. we need it to get on a level playing field

Charmless man youd be quite happy if we were penniless wouldnt you. Would you then feel like we hard earnt any victories?

Do you not understand without this investment we will slip behind the big clubs and weve slipped back enough as it is. This club should be at the forefront of every competition and the times are changing so we have to change with it. If you dont like it fine but your moaning will get you nowhere.

Just been reading the sunday papers. One says the Dubai company will become the new owners very soon the other says this Gillet fella. To my thinking if we are going to have a new owner it may aswell be the people with the most money, who i would say would be the Dubai lot. The report i read said they were prepared to cover all the clubs debt supply spending for players and supply the capital required for the new stadium. The chap who heads the company is a liverpool fan, ok maybe not a scouser but its something :D. The other thing is i would be worried if we were bought by this Gillet bloke that we would just become one of his sports teams (aparently he owns an NHL team and has investments in others) this would mean he wouldn't be prepared to spend as much as the Dubai lot.

I really hope the Dubai company become the new owners. Aparently the report in The Mail says they may even be prepared to leave the current board in place which i think would be a bonus. They have always had the clubs best interest at heart and it would make things easier. We are in a tricky situation right now and have been for sometime and i think the Dubai company are the best we could hope for really. People who actually like the club with plenty of cash.

Yep it would be nice if Parry and Moores could stay on which im ure will happen anyway as i can see a forgeiner being the first point of contact with the media ect  with no experience of the club.

But i like the fact that the shiekh said he wanted to give is financial backing to compete with Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Call me a greedy :censored: of youlike im sick of watching this club lose out to the other team when its Liverpool that should be at the top of the table season in season out.

it would theoretically be good if moores & parry could stay on but i'm not sure if they'd want to tbh - they would effectively just be doing the bidding of the new owners and certainly wouldn't like not having the final say in what happens at the club

You say that as if they are trying to buy the club with bad intentions.

no not at all, but even with the best will in the world i'm sure there would be parts of the club on which new owners would have different ideas to parry & moores.

parry & moores are very driven men to get where they have in life, so they're not the kind of guys who would want to go back a step and have a boss who can over-rule them again. sure i'd rather keep them on the board but i think it would be only a matter of time until they wanted to go and steer their own ship again

I can't really see Moores hanging around/being kept on if it's a total takeover; it's like when you buy a used car, you pay the money to the owner and you expect to get the car and drive away, you don't expect/ask the previous owner to get in with you.

With Parry it's a different kettle of fish, he's basically an employee of LFC (a high up one at that!) so it'd be down to the new owners as to whether he's kept on. If these discussions with the DIC have been going on for 2 years then they may see him as the person to carry on doing the chief-executives role or something similar as he's got vast experience of the club and the premiership.

be careful what you pray for.... this gillett fellow is bad news--he bought the montreal canadiens which is equal to pool in the nhl for history and quality and they have not gotten any better -- he has done nothing for them, but i bet they make money

and i just hope that this isn't just for the money. just after i was born a one ' william clay ford' (#1 shareholder in ford motor) bought the detroit lions which were before that a great team in the nfl. well in over 40 yrs they have been terrible-- he has the money and does nothing -- the current regime is 28 and 69 and ford won't fire them -- money does not equal success

i hope the dubai boys will be good but lets remeber the quality of ownership the moore family has given to us. one of the joys of being a pool fan is that the ownership is quality and wants the best for the team.
