I don't want Liverpool to become a global brand name, because we are a club, not a brand name. I don't want to see people wearing the Liverpool shirt because it’s the in thing. I don't want to see us spending huge amounts of money on individual players. People will say "Rafa's not stupid" what happens when Rafa leaves? If we can find an investor who has the same love for the club us fans do and knows the traditions and history and will obey these then I welcome the idea of a new chairman/chairmen, but I doubt these Dubai fellers are supporters. The fact they want us to be on par with Chelsea and Real Madrid, shows this. For many this is an exciting time, for me it’s a worrying time, I know Moores will try and find a suitable owner, but once Moores has gone the Investors can change their stance and change the club. I’m worried we will become another club who makes the transformation from a working class people’s club to a business made up of prawn sandwich eaters. I’ll guess we will see, I know I’m being pessimistic, but I’ve always been proud to say to people, Liverpool won things through hard work, honesty, guts and determination, I was proud to say to people that we didn’t need a chairman to throw money into the club, I want to keep on saying that even when we win number nineteen, twenty, twenty one and twenty two and so on, I fear I won’t be able to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I wouldn’t like to see some of (not all) but some of Europe’s finest joining the club, but not if it means we are branded the new Chelsea and Real Madrid, because anything we win will be worthless without the respect of others. We are a club that demands respect and we earned the respect, I don’t want to see that vanish. Would I still support Liverpool if we became the new Chelsea? Yes, I will forever stand by the club I love and most fans will do the same, will I cheer when we score, yes I will, will I be truly happy when we win trophies? I don’t think so, not if we’ve bought twenty two of the world’s best players for about £400,000,000. I don’t feel nights like Istanbul would be as magical if we have a billionaire owner in charge of the club. I can understand the need for Investment, but I don’t want it, not if it means we become just another club. We’re different, we’re unique and we’re the best club to ever grace the game, I’m so proud to be a Liverpool fan, to say I’ve stood in the kop, to have watched someone of the best games in history, I don’t want that to change. If the investor/investors come in and does all the right things, keeps us as Liverpool Football Club, supplies Rafa with the funds he needs, helps us get a new stadium, then I will happily eat humble pie and say that I was wrong.
