Its obvious that on sites like this the majority of posters are here mainly to debate..some simply to boost a failing ego!

There are times when a simple ego boosting i am right erection is not enough...in fact it could be forgiven and forgotten.

In our lifestyle we take the food that we have and eat it....throw out the leftovers or in some cases give to the dog!Too much is not enough......?

In Sudan and Ethiopia people starve, they have no food,no CLEAN water..no home....

60% of children(babies like ours) are born HIV positive and die an agonising death through organ failure....Firstly lungs, then eyes,liver.....Stop breathing....the rest is too sick too describe!ITS SORE....REALLY SORE!

What can we do?

If we can do nothing the very least we can do is be grateful for our own lives!

We can all give to Charity!

I am not posting a link..this is not a begging thread...but people at every corner on every street..we see charity shops....LOOk into them next time you simply walk by!

Old clothes, old shoes, old bed linen.....What seems old to us can save a life in Sudan...its..COLD!

Throw your old stuff in ...you may save a life!!

Or maybe tell these people to stop having 50 kids. Sorry, im all for charity, but i do believe it begins at home. If you have a spare blanket, give it to one of the 1000s of homeless on our streets.

Sorry, all charity is good, and nice one barry for decent thoughts :)

Contraception is unfortunately unavailable in the deserts of Sudan!

I'll ask for a condom machined too ?

That would be pushing it though...education may be a start!

Its not even as if you can say hey doc'get her on the jack n jill'

They do not have the luxuries we do Dawson............................................

I've got an idea though................Your personality could in fact be the best contraception known to man!

Sure the romanians will all be over here in January anyway, along with the bulgarians and whatever, youll be able to hand it to them personally and save the postage.
Dawsons right, a load of contraception is what they need ,havin kids in their circumstances -should be hung drawn and quartered.
But it was a nice thought anyway Sir Bob. :nod

I don't tend to give money to charities like Oxfam; I do however usually donate old belongings of mine to Oxfam and other charities. I find it difficult to trust people like Geldoff, Bono and their live eight cause, not too mention Children in Need, I do not support any organisation that has celebrities campaigning for it as hardly any money goes to the actual people and cause, it goes into Pete Doherty's wallet so he can buy more cocaine for himself.

The only way we can possibly start to help Africa is by cancelling the debt, do we need all the money that the countries on the African continent starve for, just to keep up the payment? If you do that and allow African countries to build up their own economy through trade it will be a big help. Another good way to help African people is to support funding for new schools, water wells, better homes, better hospitals and equipment such as agriculture for them. It's a complex issue, but sending money over to them countries isn't wise, the chances are your money will not go to the people, but to the "governments" new jet and cars.

Some of the toffs in this country should invest in some African companies, so they can get their own business up and running, by doing these things you are helping them become self sufficient, you're helping set up the economy on the African continent, help African companies get up and running, you're help create jobs and employment.

Education is also a fundamental point, Aids and HIV need to be taught as well as academic studies, educate the next generation of African children and you will slowly start to see a Africa rise out of absolute poverty.

I feel they need to be taught to become Atheist, the reason Aids is rife over there is because the silly Catholic religion (I'm a catholic) decided to convert thousands of Africans to join the Catholic faith and contraception is not allowed, there's one of you're problems, you can hand out as much condoms and other forms of contraception you like many Africans will refuse to use it on the basis of their religion.

Good post Barry.  :)

If you don't believe in giving to charity or helping people better themselves, that's fine, but please refrain for being an Arse about it.

i am not charitable, never have been and never will be.

nature is nature mate, its the natural culling of the weak i am sad to say. previously when the world is overpopulated we have had 2 world wars to slow down the growth, that isnt going to happen this time so we have to let nature take its course.

remember the people that are dying dont really know any different. as for people in the UK i am amazed with the charitable government that we seem to have there that anyone can not afford to eat unless they waste the money on fags, boozs and cable tv.

with regards to illness then the health service should take care of that. when you give to charity you are releasing the governments from some of their obligations, its the governments that should be forced to help ( i know that will come from taxes eventually)
