Who, in the Liverpool sides of recent years, in your opinion is more naturally gifted with a ball beside their feet.

My vote goes to Gerrard.

Its a hard one to call.

Gerrard is the best footballer of the lot, but Jamie Redknapp's technique was roughly equivalent.

Kewell has superb natural abililty but that doesn't necessarily make him a better player than Gerrard.

None of them could compare to McMannaman for dribbling skills.

Its a very difficult one to call: Gerrard is the best overall player of those mentioned above but "naturally gifted with the ball at their feet" is difficult to define.

I mean Juninho of Boro has sensational natural ability, but he's not one of the top 10 players in the Premiership, is he?

steven gerrard is the best all-round footballer i have seen at liverpool for a long long time. the guy has everything and can still improve. redknapp was technically brilliant and mcmanaman was just superb to watch when he was in full flow (celtic anyone?).

a bit further back barnes and beardsley were two of the most naturally gifted players i had ever seen. it was like the ball was glued to their feet at times.

Barnes and Beardsley's ability on the ball was South American.

I agree that from Barnes' era, he was one of the most naturally gifted players, but I was emphasising more on the more modern day people.

If we were to discuss players from the early 1990's, you can't dismiss Steve Mchmahon or Ray Houghton - they were class acts.

Shame that Barnes' presenting on Channel 5 is not as good as his footballing skills.

Where would that boy be without an autocue.

I think the form from this season has slightly clouded your judgement here boys.

THE most naturally gifted player at Liverpool is Michael Owen. His runs and finishing is something he could do in his sleep. If you watch him, he is ALWAYS in the right place, and when we have free kicks or corners, he is always in the six yard box waiting for the spilled catch or deflection. Some of the runs he makes are sublime, and a better ball player alongside Stevie G would highlight this further. Michael makes scoring goals look so easy, and this is the trate of a naturally gifted forward.

Whilst Gerrard has been and continues to be simply outstanding, I am sure Stevie himself would admit that he is not naturally gifted with the kind of brain Michael has or the skills of Henry or Zidane. Stevies class is apparent, but he works damn hard to be such a good player, Michael on the other hand does it all so naturally.

In my opinion its Owen.

Spot on there Leon , At school there was always one lad who was briliant at all sports and it was a source of annoyance but quiet admiration....

At Liverpool FC that person is Michael, he's just a natural sportsman who happens to have chosen football as his chosen sport. Apparrantly he plays off scratch at golf, is a briliant cricketer and if they had a tiddlywinks competition at liverpool he wouild probably win it :p

I think that if Owen has a good Euro 2004, he could surpass the all-time England goalscorers record, which I think is held by Bobby Moore and Gary Linekar just missed out on.

Are we talking about natural talent alone? I think Macca has loads but seem to have lost his dribbling skills just before he went to Madrid.

For me, the jury is still out on Kewell's natural talents. Don't get me wrong, I don't for a moment doubt his skills but he has not produced his brilliance at Leeds for us yet. perhaps it was with the way he was deployed last year...

Gerrard has loads of desire and a terriffic engine plus his abilities. Owen is a very sharp predator and I reckon he is still not the finished article yet. Hopefully he can improve further. Owen and Stevie G are my favourite players...
