You talk about the fella's livelihood, ye I see what you're saying, but it's not like he's gonna be on the dole is he?

Oh ,ok , thats alright then . Must be great being a liverpool player knowing that if you get seriously injured many fans like you will be sending such positive messages of support . (Provided of course you are that fans flavour of the month)

Dont think cisse gives a sh.it if the fans are supporting him. Plus if your that bothered about his well being go and nurse him back to perfect health

You have to feel for Cisse, even if you don't like him. Anyone who doesn't really needs to question if they are civilised human beings.

edit : havent seen the previous posts

well its not the same leg.

anyway it was really impressive to see. its like theres absolutely no doubt he wont play for at least a year. i think hes just doomed. the worst is that today the coach said he would play the world cup with Henry instead of trezeguet :/

Am sure cisse has the determination to make a full recovery and play again, we saw this the last time he broke his leg, it was career threatening aswell so he obviously has the mental strength to battle back. Look at stevie warnock, he broke his leg twice; the second break comin after the recovery of the first a think. It can be done. And with the medical facilities the club has am sure he is in good hands.

The same thought crossed my mind and then I thought "Don't be such a kunt  , thinking about the financial ramifications when this could possibly signal the end of the fella's realistic top flight career"

If it was one of our hero's none of us woulld be talking about the money .Maybe this signifies just how disloyal some of us can be .No wonder some players go for the money while they can get it .

Thats why I dont hold it against anyone looking to make us much as possible for them and their family.  You never know when your last game will be.

It just makes me sick . Imagine yourself in Cissie's shoe's , lyin' in hospital recovering and maybe (just maube) you log on to a site like this and all you see is a bunch of so called supporters moaning about the fact that "we'll get f*ck all for him now "

IT'S A F*CKING DISGRACE .

Agree with you there woof. It's not right no matter how much you don't like the guy to be thinking about how little the club will get for him now. There won't be many of us on here that haven't thought how this is going to affect any transfer but we have to forget that. This is a young mans livelyhood and not matter how rich he is we must rally behind him and just wish the poor sod well and hope he makes a full recovery.

Doesnt really bother me about the guys condition..its a broken leg, it happens to people every day and its not that serious, its not like hes dying. If this had happened to some random person somewhere you wouldnt all be worried to find out about their condition and see if thy are comfortable and gettin through it all right..think of cisse like just another person, another person whos got tons of money..dont really feel too much sympathy, im more worried about how we are going to transfer him now

Sorry, but that's outrageous. He's a professional footballer. Obviously not being able to play football is a huge deal to someone that does it for a living. Footballers are well paid, but it's not like they play on until they're 65.

When all is said and done, I'm gutted both for him and for our club. There's no shame in that. It's rotten luck that has probably dashed not only Rafa's transfer plans but also Cisse's plans of moving back to France. It's not just a case of playing football for another club, there's also the matter of finding somewhere to live, finding new schools for your kids and completely overhauling your social network. Cisse and his family will have been thinking very seriously about all of this, and any plans made may now have gone completely out of the window.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being disappointed that our transfer kitty may well be considerably smaller now, but there are ways of expressing it without being heartless. I suggest you look into them.

Spot on, mate...

It's a terrible turn of events for all concerned: Djibs and his family, France, Liverpool and clubs like Marseille who were in for him.

No professional footballer, no matter how handsomely paid, is prepared to take a major injury in his stride, especially a potentially career-threatening one.  Moreover, no player selected to represent his country will see any positives in missing out on a major tournament through injury, particularly when it happens at this late stage.

Cisse's never been a favourite of mine but I really feel for him.

Get well soon, Djibril!  :buttrock

Such a shame considering the boss was going to go with Cisse & Henry for the WC.  Was really looking forward to seeing them both together tonight.

BBC:
Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse is out of the World Cup after breaking his right leg in France's friendly against China on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old was knocked off balance by a defender 10 minutes into the game and fell, his right leg twisting under him and buckling above the ankle.

Cisse, who had been tipped to leave Liverpool this summer, had immediate surgery on a fractured tibia.

France coach Raymond Domenech said: "It's a vicious blow to all of us."

Cisse, who broke his left leg while playing for Liverpool in October 2004, had been linked with a move to Marseille after the World Cup.

He will now spend the closed-season recovering from his operation, with an eye on returning to action some time in 2006-2007.

In the game itself, Cisse was replaced by David Trezeguet, who went on to score France's opener. The French won the game 3-1.

Ex-Arsenal and Manchester City striker Nicolas Anelka, now of Fenerbahce, and Barcelona's Ludovic Giuly are in line to replace Cisse in the French squad.

Although he was part of France's 2002 World Cup squad, Cisse missed Euro 2004 after being given a five-game ban following a sending off in an Under-21 match.

I think Gouvou may get picked as both Guily and Anelka had major digs at the coach!!

It looks like it's in the exact same place as his last break which means that bone, the shin bone is very weak, I think this injury could well cause him to retire, if that's the case what a waste of a good footballing career, get well Cisse. :(

It's not the same leg, still very unlucky for him. This might cause him to lose a some of his pace and that is his main asset. Was looking forward to him playinig for frabce aswell.
Get well soon Cisse  :(

I watched the game, he played well and the China defenders have to take him "out of the game" because he is too good for the defenders to cope.

Good Luck and Get Well Soon .....

Come on CRA there is now way a broken leg is his own fault. He going to miss the world cup now, and depending on the severity of the injury some of next season.

I along with most others (except the madman) want to see him leave LFC for a decent price, but I would never wish this sort of injury on anyone (cept maybe neville or Essien)
