Good post, drummerphil. That's the insight you don't find in google when you want to know about LFC. Other posters, please do the same thing (and Cool Hand Luke if you change your attitude with a boykott, you are making the troll happy, as they want to interfere the normality of the forum).

My team here in Peru has not won the peruvian league since we were 3 times champions in 2000. As liverpool, we are the team with the most titles in our country. after 5 years we have won nothing really until last season we came close to the championship (ended up third). When we were champions I always enjoyed watching us play but once we started loosing somehow every victory raised our hopes and was a completely different feeling.

2 weeks ago I went to the stadium, to our return to la copa libertadores and the stadium was full of our supporters. All the stands only our supporters. Last time I had seen that was when we were champions in 2000. That feeling, being back in the Libertadores and the stadium being almost at its full capacity was really amazing.

to always win is a great feeling but also, to start the season with high hopes and think "this is our year", to celebrate every victory and mourn every loss is just part of the rollercoaster that being a supporter is about.

now i dont know about you but i find that a :censored: disgrace from a so called fickle fan.....

Its amazing how the media change their tune too......

First couple of months of the season  we are a joke and so undeserving to be European champions..

We go on a run win 10 games on the bounce and we are a title threat,2nd best team in the country and are looking like the real deal and great european champions....

We lose 3 games and draw one we are distinctly average will be lucky to finish in the top 4 .......

Its  not unlike some  people on here who change their opinions on the team and individual players every other day......

personally its all giving me a headache and i for one back Rafa 100 per cent.We cant run before we can walk........

Recently a Burnley F.C. supporter posted here. Although his team might be cráp he was happy because they have good youngsters that are promising for the first time in years. I think that his team might be of a lower category. But that supporter was a Champions League supporter.

You are not.

Great post Sabre. That Burnley fan was a true fan and one that Burnley FC would be very proud of I'm sure.

Unfortunately 'true' fans are a dying breed in todays hectic and materialistic, media driven world.  It seems most people even if they are fans at heart are too busy with their own lives to allocate time for football.  We only hear them voice their opinion when something extroardinary happens - good or bad.

Here in Oz we started back at pre-season training a couple of weeks ago and there were about 40-50 extra lads turned up. Something tells me that wouldn't have happened if the Socceroos hadn't made the World Cup this year!

It`s plain to see more than anything else that some of the Liverpool fans on this thread don`t need a liscense to h8/dislike other people, as they just as easily turn on their own.

As the 90's   progressed i suppose the younger fans who had not seen our immense success in its full started to get use to many false dawns but older fans like me were becoming quite depressed at seeing the Rise of the Mancs....
When we won 5 trophies in a calender year under Houllier although it was great, expectation levels were high that we would go on,the pattern and style of play that came with it and after i found at times so very frustrating. The same thing can be said now about Rafa and in an odd way Winning the european cup in his first season will do him no favours with a lot of fair weather fans, if we dont win it again or the title within 12 months.Personally whether he never wins anything again i will eternally thank him for making me feel like i did in the 70's and 80's when such feelings were common place.

very well said.

I think you are missing the point.

The target this year was to win the league, after such a good run in the European cup final last season. Even Carra/ Rafa and Stevie Said so at the start of the season.

People are just dispaointed hugely, when we are drawing / losing versus teams we should be easily putting away.

People should be allowed to criticise/ make comments if things are not going well.

Im betting the only reason you support LFC is because they were successful in the 80's.

But would you support someone like stockport county through thick and thin, even if they get pasted every week? ???

Liverpool FC is about winning, it is almost a tradition. Just like the guards at the tower of London.

And losing to teams lke Chelsea and Man Utd recently is far more than just football...it's about PRIDE!

Get it! ?

People who are angry and want to express it after we lose to such teams are expressing thier anger as they have pride!

PS. CAn I ask why people back Rafa 100% (apart from being and LFC fan) , when they dont know what the future will bring. we may never win  the league under Rafa. it could happen.

Over the next two weeks, we could be out of the race for second, out of the FA cup, and out of the CL , if we dont buck up our ideas.

:veryangry  :veryangry

Hustler are you a manic depressive?  I've never seen you post anything POSITIVE ever, in your million various ID's over your years on this forum.  Which leads me to believe you are not a Liverpool fan.

You are right JMac - he's not a Liverpool FC fan.

He's a tw*t.  :nod
