completely agree with you sabre, its not insulting but for some reason it does sound worse when accompanied with an insult. Plus, I usually thought of hispanic as "de habla hispana" while latin as people that come from areas that speak languages born from latin (as a language). I think were getting a little off topic though

I think it's insulting because the north americans talk about latins with some disrespect, and thus it seems it's insulting when it's not. I wouldn't care, "latin" is good to me.

And yes, there is some topic drifting going on :)  but who cares, I would respect any thread of any poster of this forum, but this one was created by the twát, so a locking of it by the mods would be a decent finish for it :)

BTW, your avatar. Are you Chilean? I think "Dale" (Give it!) is some sort of supporting shout there in America, and AFAICT the "U" is Universidad católica of Chile team? If so, is Cheito Ramirez still playing there? Cheers!!

Actually its Universitario de Deportes from Peru :p you were close on the name though. Were finally back in la Copa Libertadores in a rather strong group: LDU from Ecuador, Velez from Argentina and Rocha which were the last Uruguayan champions. I really hope this is our year, a good run in la libertadores and winning the national championship which hasn't been ours since we were crowned thrice champions in a row on 2000. don't really know about ramirez though, sorry

while in the strikers topic, two young peruvian strikers liverpool should look at are Jeferson Farfan from PSV and Paolo Guerrero from Baryern Munich. After Bayerns friendlies the fans were asking for guerrero on the starting eleven. The lad scored one goal on each of their 6 friendlies and is just a joy to watch on the peruvian national team. He has a "never give up" attitude that is amazing, always fighting for every ball, running on every attempt, as we call it "le pone huevos" to the game.

I noticed not in the poll, were Sinama Pongolle, and Mellor.

Both favorably compared, to Cisse, Moro, Fowler, and Crouch.

Pongy, not given a fair crack at the whip by Rafa.

I cannot understand why Fowler has so many votes, I bet everyone thourght that Cisse going to be the best, then when Morientes came everyone thourght he was going to be the best, then when Crouch came everyone thourght he was going to be sh!t and now he is our best.
Fowler should not be in this poll because he has only been in the side for a few weeks...

Vote goes to Crouch as Robbie still needs to prove that he is up to it. Btw i am not slaggin him, I just think that he needs to have more than the best attitude to get my vote.

p.s. shattered about the Crouch injury, hope Fowler gets the nod ahead against Wigan............

Have to agree that Fernando Morientes is not at his best at the moment but we also have the likes of Djbril Cissé, top scorer in the French league a few times, who has hardly scored more that Nando. Peter Crouch has been among the top scorers in the Premiership last season with S'oton but took around 11 matches to score a goal and hasn't scored much since.

I hope that Robbie can show them the way to the back of the net.

I still believe that we can't say who is our best striker at the moment since none of them is scoring.

Yesterday, it was a pass of Jamie Carragher which allowed Sami Hyppia to score the goal.

The last time a striker scored was against Luton when Flo-Po got 2 goals and the last time a striker who is still at the club scored was last year(31/12/05) when Peter Crouch scored against West Brom.

IF Cisse, Mori and PC not perfoming as Striker or NOT scoring goal , Rafa have to look for new striker for next season.

As for me , I will sell all of them and buy , maybe Torres or David Villa or Defoe to play with Sinama .
