Most of you are living on videos!!!
Owen is the best I've seen live !!!
followed by Rush,Fowler ,Hunt/  The great sides were unusual because the goals came from everywhere.

John Bull thank you :)

I'm 20. I didn't see Dalglish live or Keegan, or Toshack or Rush in his prime or Aldo.

All i can go on is what i've seen and thats Owen. He was better than Fowler and he was better than Rush for what i've seen.

I also believe the standard of football has improved immensely over the last 15 years and the best players of those years would be nothing more than Danny Murphy or Freddi Ljunberg players of today.

I'd have to say Rush, better all round game than Fowler and better finisher than Owen.
Best striker I've ever seen at putting defenders under pressure when they had possession too.
He was often the first line of defence.

If Fowler was so good how come he got f##k all caps for England.

Owen is miles better but Rush stands out as the best goalscorer of the lot (although Dalglish was the best player)

owen is absolute class. fowler never got a game for england because shearer and sheringham were such a great partnership. i have faith that owen will get back to his form of a couple of years ago once he gets a quality strike partner.

i remember a few years back that andy gray said he hadn't seen anyone as good as this kid (as he was then) in his life. i think it was after we beat newcastle 4-1 at st james' and owen got a 20 minute hatrick. he was tearing defences to shreds every week. now, we play in a style which just deprives him of the ball. he is still the best i have seen live and he will be england's all time record goalscorer. :)

I've seen Rush, Owen and Fowler live and I say as a striker in the purest form , Rush was better. Some in here are changing the goalposts saying that the way the game is played today favours Owen but thats a bit like saying Pele wouldn't make a team in this day and age cos of the increased speed and fitness required or that Jesse Owens isn't as good a runner as  Linford Christie. Rush was better in his time than Owen is in his, perhaps that  better way of putting it :p

I have to say Aldo was great, not the greatest but I loved the pride he had playing for his club.

Even though he's about as Irish as Churchill, he was still my favourite player (behind mcGrath of course)
