When we play City, Pearce HAS to get a standing ovation from our fans.

He was a legend as a player, and he's fast becoming one of the fairest, most honest Managers in Britain. THAT is the reason he'll never get the England job while the shower of sh*te are running the FA.

Thanks Pearce - your contribution is appreciated by all LFC fans. :)

Fowler may be older, slower and heavier now than when he left us but he would not miss sitters like that overpriced French guy who wears the no.9 and is actually in disguise as a 14 million striker!

Welcome back, Robbie. Complete your destiny by scoring goals for us even if you are no longer a 90 minute player.

Over the :censored: moon to have Robbie back, but still he shouldnt have left(here comes the IFS)......
If Mhyre or whatever hadnt twatted him and he had stayed, he would of broke Rush's goal tally. Such a :censored: shame like, he would of got 400 plus goals in a full career.
Still, he is back and thats all that matters.

Heh heh - glad we're getting some of the money they owe us back...

From LeedsUnited-mad.co.uk:

"LEEDS have confirmed they are still paying Robbie Fowler a wage following his move to Liverpool yesterday.

The former England striker had a 14-month spell at Elland Road and as part of the agreement which took him to Manchester City, Leeds agreed to keep paying Fowler some of his wages, to make up for the shortfall which came with moving to Eastlands.

Leeds chief operating officer Shaun Harvey told the Yorkshire Post that agreement would stand until the summer, the time Fowler's contract at Leeds was originally due to expire.

Harvey said: "Our agreement is with Robbie Fowler and as such there will be no change.

"Leeds are not going to be relieved of any financial burden, the deal was agreed that Leeds would continue to pay Robbie Fowler until the middle of 2006 and that deal stands no matter where he plays."

I think the key to Fowlers renewed spell will be his fitness. If he can stay fit, regarding injuries and general fitness he'll rule the kop again. The problem is he's 30 and another serious injury could finish his career cos' Rafa won't extend the contract if he does get injured. Lets hope and pray he doesn't

Rafa ready to turn to Robbie
(press release monday 30/1/06)

Rafael Benitez has hinted that Robbie Fowler will feature for Liverpool against Birmingham on Wednesday after admitting he will be a "big asset" for the Reds.

The Reds manager watched strikers Djibril Cisse and Fernando Morientes turn in a largely ineffective display against Portsmouth as the Reds reached the FA Cup fifth round with a 2-1 success at Fratton Park.

Steven Gerrard's 36th-minute penalty was sharp enough and John Arne Riise's strike an absolute peach four minutes later.

But Morientes and Cisse rarely got into the act and Peter Crouch and Harry Kewell did not appear from the bench until the closing stages.

Benitez said of Fowler, who rejoined the Reds on Friday: "He is a first-class finisher with so much passion for the club and now we just have to see how fit he is to decide whether he plays against Birmingham.

"He is going to be a big asset for us. I know he is glad to have signed and has taught me a new English phrase about being over the moon."

Benitez, whose players were derided after they went out to Burnley in the third round last year and emotionally drained after they came from 3-1 down to beat Luton last time out in the FA Cup, admitted: "Portsmouth put us under a lot of pressure.

"It was the strong wind and the new pitch they have laid that also had an effect. It was difficult to pass. They played a lot of long balls and, in the second half, we changed our tactic to counter-attacking football.

"It turned out not as easy as we thought it might. We should have known it would be difficult because they are a Premiership side. And although they may have been playing badly in the league, they still have qualities and you never know what might happen in games like this.

"The main thing at the end of the day is that we are in the last 16. We want to win every match."

Rafa's training is twice as strenuous as Houlliers was and fitness is the key under Benitez, so Robbie will be a lot fitter and sharper once he's been training with Rafa/Pako :)
