Sorry, but if LFC are involved I hope it does come out into the open.  We don't need to go in for these back door shenanigans, why ruin the game that's brought us so much success?  Any 'industry' that has so much money involved will attract the unscrupulous, so let's try to keep their influence to a minimum.  If LFC were badly affected but football was the better for it, then so be it.  I'm not interested in supporting a sport that tolerates corruption...I might as well watch pro-wrestling!

Having said that, I'd love it to be ManUre, Chelski and Neverton that's involved.
:D

What a disgrace, I would think that he would be forced to resign now.....

I hope that Chelsea get stung for being corrupt and f#cking Abromovich wipes that smug look off his face!

That HAS to be Redknapp at Portsmouth, I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

Wouldn't be surprised if Fergie was the one over-paying for players.  He's a dodgy dealer alright, people forget he got the sacked from St Mirren early in his management career for fiddling the books.  How did that Vidic guy get bought for 7 million when the release clause was 3 or 4?  No other club had lodged a firm bid, so where'd the money go?

A while ago i posted a topic about man uniteds dodgy dealings in, particular fergusons. It came after Phil Thompson said that when cristiano ronaldo moved to united he was amazed as liverpool had previously had a bid of 4m accepted. Ronaldo moved for 13. Juan Veron is another good example, why on earth did fergie pay 28m for him when he had paul scholes in his prime. Also Jaap Stam was sold because of saying in his bbok ferguson may have used "underhand" tactics with the agent.

fergies one of them

Now he's going, I would like that Guus Hiddink who's in charge of Australia.  He got the Koreans to the semis last time and has a top reputation with PSV.

What do our Australian members think of this?  Would you be prepared to give him to us?  I don't want an English manager, I just want the best manager.  If he's English all the better obviously, but I don't believe Curbishley, McLaren or Allardyce are ready yet.

I know Allardyce wants it and is quite a scientific manager, but not experienced enough for me.

Guus is god as far im concerned in international manager scene
Since bringing home the bacon with getting us to the holy grail for first time in 32 years he seems to be in high demand.
After this WC he has been linked with everyone from Manchester United (god i hope not) to the Russian national team
Will be interesting to see where he ends up after WC, he certainly be helluv lot better foreign manager for England then that swede.

I like Guus Hiddink but I am not sure he would want the England job, its a very big job indeed and always in the spot light.
The vultures circle when things are not going well, he is an excellent coach/manager just not sure he would want the job.
Curbishley/Allardyce/Pearce no way not good enough could'nt bare Fat sam incharge :no .
Martin O'Neill is a good shout though, but whether he wants the responsibilty is another matter.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

zarababe wrote:I have not read the article's, but from reading some of your reactions and the constant media reaction to this, I ask the humble question, is the English press not hoping for an England world cup win ??? How can the press, all be it scum press, think that by doing this they are gonna help the Englsih cause ???

Eriksson, for all his flaws, is England manager and will be leading the 'troops' out at the greatest footballing tournamnet of all, in over 5 months time .. but is there even an ounce of consideration of this ? NO

We are a nation plagued by sabouteurs, so stupid and fickle
:no

Firstly, i agree that Sven isn't the best at keeping himself out of trouble, and is probably given too much credit as he's obviously not that sharp!!

However, once again the 'S.cum of the world' has gone about building someone up to knock them down. With Graham Taylor it was the old turnip head story, Hoddle and his faith healers etc etc etc. Yep, our mgrs haven't always lived up to people's expectations, but for one- we all have very high expectations, and secondly, how can they concentrate on their jobs when they're constantly getting knocked from all sides.

How do the red top rags get away with it? We're only 5 months away from a world cup that we (the english fans) were all getting very confident about (but confidence with some foundations this time- or at least i hope).

Again, i still don't believe Sven's been the brightest, but being taken to Dubai where you are wined and dined taken on huge private boats for what you believe is a valid job interview (after all, how does he know he wasn't going to get kicked out after the world cup anyway. Yes- he earns more than any of us could dream of but this shouldn't be the point). We all go for job interviews, i know i've taken sickies to do this in the past.

In an interview the idea is to 'big' yourself up to make yourself employable. Do you really think he'd walk in and go, "employ me, but i don't think i could persuade players to come and play for me, also i quite like the bung culture in this country and with some of my mates in other teams i could really expand my coffers" (although he'd probably use some swedish term).

Also, after a few drinks you maybe say things you don't necesary mean. But when there's someone there who's been trained to get the info they need and know exactly how to lead an 'interview' to get the qutoes they need then you're off on a loser from the start.

Once again, the 'S.cum of the World' has gone out to ruin someones life to sell their :censored: paper, but this time it's not just Sven's life they're effecting. Every English player that they've coaxed him into talking about and then edited to the best effect will now be effected by this, every club that was supporting the team in order to give us the best chance will be giving him a wide berth (especially if more corruption story's come out), and every fan that was looking forward to the World Cup that we have a good chance of winning will suffer if we don;t do as expected. And. I for one will blame that :censored: rag for once again trying to sabotage our world Cup build up- and campaign.

The story's have already started about who's going to take the job, and they're only going to increase until they get someone installed before the World Cup so they have suceeded their mission.

Invasion of privacy, taping and filming conversations without his knowledge- for :censored: sake he's not a rapist!! he's a football mgr, and as mgr of England we should be supporting him not creating ways to hang him. If we don't win this world cup, will it be because we don't have the right man for the job? or because that rag did everything possible to disrupt things? I for one would like to have at least been able to leave the blame firmly at Sven's feet. This is now impossible as too much non-football related boll.ox has got involved. We had (and i really hope we still do) a great chance to win this world cup- this is now seriously in doubt and whose fault is it- that :censored: Rag of the World!
