The loan system - It's a joke

The Premiership - General Discussion

so this weekend lomana lua-lua scores a last minute equaliser against newcastle, the club who holds his registration. these dropped two points could (hopefully) come back to haunt them in the race for 4th place. the way i look at it is that if a player is on loan to another premier league club they shouldn't be allowed to play against their own club. imagine if babbel scored the winner against us next month. they'd be an outrage. however arguments come out of this whole debacle:

1) lua-lua was loaned out to gain first team experience so surely he wants to play in every game possible.

2) he was apparantly booed by newcastle fans. he never asked to go out on loan in the first place.

3) bobby robson claimed that it was out of his hands when it came to whether lua-lua played or not. how unfair is that?

the whole system is a complete farce in my opinion. what do u reckon?

When u loan out players u can have a clause that prevents that player from playing against u. So its not that unfair.

That second point is complete bullsh#t, the Newcastle fans are being unreasonable.
Interviewer:       'Would it be fair to describe you as a volatile player?'
David Beckham: 'Well, I can play in the centre on the right and occasionally on the left side.' (Man U)

Why shouldnt Lua lua play against Newcastle? If he is a newcastle player then why is he wearing a portsmouth shirt, and if he is a portsmouth player then why cant he play against newcastle? Who`s player is he exactly? In effect newcastle fans are saying that Bobby Robson should have a say in Harry Redknapps team selection. That cant be right can it?
