i wouldn't blame rafa if he "parks the bus" and play for a draw.....

As long as we don't lose to the scums i would be happy.

Hope, by the time we play scums we have another new signing (ie.....dafoe or pennant or joaquin....or even all 3)  :D

Anyone going to this? I got a ticket yesterday ... made up. I reckon this will be a classic. Not saying we'll win, mind.

this next month we take in Manure,Arsenal and Chelsea after these a true indication of our progress will be made,i'm not saying we will get 9 points, but 7 is entirely possible if we approach them in the right way.I for one cant wait for these games to come.

Although not essential mathematically to win the game, as we have two games in hand (and even when we beat Everton we finished 5th), it will be important mentally.

When we played them last season, (the time at Anfield, not the time they injured Gerrard for 3 months), Roy Keane gave Gerrard a football lesson and showed him he was still the best in the prem. Well now times have changed Keane's no longer here and I think it’s fair to say Gerrard is the Best midfielder in the Prem.

I’m unsure whether or not Rafa will allow Gerrard back in to Central Midfield or he will have to continue down the right. I think either position we will benefit, terrorising O’Shea, Fletcher or Smith in the middle would be my preferred choice. But if Patrice Evra starts, then Gerrard on the right he could easily turn him inside out, Evra clearly hasn’t the fitness or found the pace of the Prem.

Times have changed, whatever goes up must come down, and Man Utd are in Decline and Desperation.

we couldnt be going into these 3 games anymore confident than now. as to how many points won, thats up to the circumstances on the day. but the way the team are 'grinding' out results as well as the times where the play is fluent and effective are getting more and more often...in itself thats a hell of an improvement. and we are far from boring to watch either.

united, arsenal and chelsea will not be expecting 3 points from any of their encounters with liverpool...that says volumes from a year ago.

I know, and whats worse is Im braggin about it. Lol. We really need to take this game ... we need to see us playing to our own strengths and not just trying to nullify theirs...

my prediction is 1-0 gerrard to score, there midfield is woeful and that is where the battle will be won by gerrard sissoko alonso and kewell dominating easily

sorry off topic but those lucky Chelski bastardo just got another deflected goal...and the goal scorer got sent off before the restart. I've lost count, anyone any idea how many deflected goals have Chelsea got?

Back on topic, I think we can get a good result at ManU. They missed the influence of Keane and their backline is prone to error when under pressure. 2-0 is my prediction with goals from midfield

It is nice going into the game as favorites . when is the last time that happened 88/89?

Alonso and gerrard are going to take the scum apart and as long as the defence keep horse head and shrek quite a nice 2-0 victory for gary bitter n evil to suck on :p

I don't think Morientes with Crouch works, they are too similar type of players, they like to hold it up or flick it on for others to run through on.  With their lack of pace, it means that a through ball for them to run onto is wasted.  I would like to see Pongolle to play off Crouch for the United game, with Gerrard being brought back into the middle.

Reina

Finnan
Carragher
Hypia
Riise

Garcia (was he injured yesterday? I noticed he didn't make the squad)
Gerrard
Alonso
Kewell

Crouch
Pongolle
